The CDC finally said that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors or out! The problem is that those miscreant vaccine deniers will just claim they had been vaccinated. Ugh. The Republicans and their sympathizers seem to have a bad case of gaslighting, obviously caught from the former administration. Many on the House Oversight Committee showed off their talents in yesterday's hearing on the Jan 6 attack on the capitol. Each lie was more outrageous than the one before... Today is Thursday. Howie Klein returns after being out last week, getting his second vaccine dose. I have a feeling we'll be talking a bit about the conservatives trying to derail Biden's attempts to make America better. And, oh yeah, Marjorie Taylor Greene harassed AOC yesterday, chasing her through the halls of the Capitol, calling her a terrorist sympathizer and worse. Opposite world, we have arrived.

Today we get an update. But we begin the show with a look at the House Oversight Hearing today about the Jan 6 Capitol insurrection. And, of course, the House Republican conference cancelled Liz Cheney's leadership role because she told the truth.

I've been trying to stay optimistic now that the former guy is gone from the White House, and the current occupant is exceeding my expectations, but reality keeps getting in the way. More accurately, Republicans are in the way. Today's Republicans have no morality, no sense of fairness. It seems their mantra was well-learned from the orange one himself: lie, cheat and steal... win, no matter the cost. The Senate Rules Committee is marking up the For the People Act today, which was supposed to fix the problems in our electoral system. Unfortunately, watching the proceedings this morning was more depressing than anything else, as it's apparent that the other side has no desire of or intention to insure free and fair elections. Today, I'll follow up on our conversation from last week with Tim Karr of FreePress.net. It had been a while since I spoke about Net Neutrality on the show, as it appeared that not much was happening. Well, that changed a few days ago with a story about big ISP's (ie Comcast) flooding the FCC with FAKE comments about the proposed rules. I'll speak with Evan Greer of Fight for the Future, who's been fighting that battle for over a decade. We'll start the show with a look at Florida's other outrage this legislative session-- they killed off the possibility of legal weed! I'll speak with Karen Seeb Goldstein, executive director of NORML Florida.
