Nicole Sandler
Nicole Sandler has worked in radio her entire adult life. After a successful career in music radio in NY and Los Angeles (WPLJ, KLOS, KSCA and others), she returned to talk radio to host mornings on then-progressive talk WINZ/Miami. After a flip to sports, she moved to Air America Radio for a nightly show. When AAR went off the air on Jan 21, 2010, Nicole Sandler moved online where she continues to question authority daily at nicolesandler.com.

20210920 Nicole Sandler Show - Fixing Floriduh with Nikki Fried and Jim DeFede
We have a busy Floriduh-based show for you today! We'll begin with candidate for Governor, Nikki Fried. She's currently Agriculture Commissioner in FL, the only Democrat in the executive branch of Florida's government. It'll be our first time talking, so I'll ask why we should elect her to replace Ron DeathSentence. Then at the bottom of the hour, we're joined by one of the best journalists in South Florida. I first met Jim DeFede when I interviewed to produce his new morning show at 940 WINZ, at the time South Florida's only progressive talk radio station. Since 2006, DeFede has been at CBS4/Miami, an investigative reporter and host of "Facing South Florida". He's the author of the book, "The Day The World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland"

20210917 Nicole Sandler Show - Friday with George Washington & Nathaniel Philbrick
I've made no secret of the fact that, despite being quite nervous about Joe Biden as the nominee and then president, I've been pleasantly surprised so far. Obviously, I have complaints, but when I compare him to the other presidents during my lifetime, so far, so good! There have been a few books published recently about #1, George Washington himself. I'm intrigued by the men who've taken on the biggest job in the country, especially seeing how absolutely flawed those who've held the position over the last 60 years are. Today, my guest is Nathaniel Philbrick. He's an author who's mined the history of the United States for a number of books. His newest one introduces us to George Washington from a much different perspective. Looking back at George Washington on the eve of a planned protest in support of the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol back in January is somewhat surreal. But that's where we are right now, in the surreal world.

20210916 Nicole Sandler Show - A Busy Thursday with Howie Klein and Alex Lawson Too
It's Thursday, the day we usually visit with Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC. He'll be here today. We'll talk about the three so-called Democrats who tanked the provision that would allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices. It makes no sense, so we'll get Howie's take on it (and find out from him who these three so-called Democrats are). Before I get Howie on the line, I'll check in with Alex Lawson, executive director of Social Security Works whose Tweet about those three caught my attention today. It read: ".@KathleenRice you just stood with pharma to keep our drug prices the highest in the world. How much did pharma pay you to ignore the will of your constituents and the American people? Absolute villainy." We'll talk with Howie about that, and what it signals for the rest of President Biden's (and Bernie Sanders') agenda.

9-15-21 Nicole Sandler Show - Lost in the Past with Bill Mumy & Angela Cartwright
There's a lot going on today. A hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee with Simone Biles and three other Olympic women gymnasts who were all assaulted by "Dr" Larry Nassar testifying. Revelations from Bob Woodward's forthcoming book are stunning-- some are calling for Mark Milley's head, others (like me) consider him a hero. Both Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin were summoned to the White House for meetings with President Biden, in which he'll try to convince them to get with the program.... Yes, lots going on. But today, we'll take a little break from most of it to visit with my old friend Bill Mumy and his TV sister Angela Cartwright. Yes, they were Will and Penny Robinson on "Lost in Space" some 50 years ago! They have a new book out called "Lost (and Found) in Space 2), available at ncpbooks.com or angelacartwrightstudio.com or billmumy.com. We'll get back to serious business tomorrow...

20210914 Nicole Sandler Show - The FOIA Master Strikes Again with Jason Leopold
The FBI dubbed my friend Jason Leopold a "FOIA Terrorist." It's a label he wears proudly, but it bugs me... because he's not a terrorist. Jason is a hero. Digging deep to uncover the dirt that the powers that be don't want you to see. So I prefer to refer to Jason Leopold as The FOIA Master! And he joins us today. Jason, using his immense power of the pen, filed the paperwork and, in return, was able to get an exclusive look at the six permits issued by Capitol Police to the people who stormed the Capitol on January 6. He'll give us the whole story about his latest scoop. We'll begin with the latest news and maybe even a phone call or two in the first half hour...
