TITUS KENNEDY | Archaeology that Brings the Bible to Life (Ep. 395)
In this episode, we welcome Titus Kennedy to the show. He is a field archaeologist that has been involved in excavations and survey projects at several archaeological sites in biblical lands, including directing and supervising multiple projects spanning the Bronze Age through the Byzantine period. His archaeological interests include biblical archaeology, the interplay between ancient documents and the archaeological record, experimental archaeology, ancient demography, and the similarities between cultures of antiquity. He is also a Research Fellow at the Discovery Institute, teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Biola University, and has been a consultant, writer, and guide for history and archaeology documentaries and curricula. Additionally, he is the author of two books: Unearthing the Bible (2020) and Excavating the Evidence for Jesus (2022). In this interview, we discuss how he became interested in archaeology, the biggest misconceptions about that field of study, how Christians should view and use archaeology, the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, the “holy grails” of Christian archaeology, how we know that Jesus actually cleared the Temple on multiple occasions, and much more. BERT SORIN | Strength is a Family Business (Ep. 392)
In this episode, we welcome Bert Sorin to the show. He is the President and Co-Owner of Sorinex Exercise Equipment, a business founded by his father, Richard Sorin, in 1980. Sorinex has been making some of the most durable strength training equipment in the industry for more than 40 years. The gear they make is utilized by athletes, service members, and students around the world. Also, he is a 4-time D-1 All-American Track and Field athlete (Hammer and 35 lb. Weight Throw), Southeastern Conference Champion, former record holder in Weight Throw, an Olympic trials athlete, and a Highland Games athlete. Additionally, he is an ambassador of the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation, an organization that leads the effort to plan, fund, design, and build the Global War on Terrorism Memorial at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. In this episode, we welcome Gabe Wicks to the show. He’s been a part of the Nashville, TN creative scene for over 25 years in the film, video, and publishing worlds. He joined Thomas Nelson Publishing in 2002, which was purchased by Harper Collins in 2011. He is the VP of the Creative Services group, and he produces around 900 audiobooks annually. One of his recent projects is Country Gospel which features country music stars like Charlie Daniels, Josh Turner, Hillary Scott, Randy Owen, Ricky Skaggs, and more reading the New Testament.
