Intrepreneurship vs Entrepreneurship | Road to Revenue #79
The main difference between an Entrepreneur and an Intrapreneur is that an Intrapreneur is an employee, and an Entrepreneur is the founder who designs, launches, and manages a new business, which almost always starts out as a small business. Entrepreneurs risk everything when they start. Intrapreneurs normally have corporate career risks (Salary, Expenses, Benefits, Equity) that arise from launching their business, but they often have many more resources at their disposal.Being an intrapreneur provides you with the opportunity to see if entrepreneurship is the right fit for you without the risks of leaving your job, investing your own money, and starting from the ground up. You can test the waters with a safety net, while having access to more resources and a larger platform afforded by the company that you are with.Intrapreneurs used to be employees of a company who are assigned to work on a special idea or project. They were given the time and freedom to develop the project as an entrepreneur would. Now, intrapreneurs are individuals who are finding new ways to generate growth with the vast number of tools they have available, due to their company’s platform.Tweet me @davidmeltzer your favorite takeaway from today's episode and come ask me questions live every Friday during my Free Weekly Training. The Secret to Cold Calling
Today's episode is all about cold calling! When you cold call someone, only two things can happen, one, they answer the phone, two they don't so you have to leave a voicemail. Don't try to sell someone on an answering machine, your objective should be to get them to call you back. Stimulate their interest.
Stimulate interest: connect emotionally to stimulate their curiosity
Transition interest: provide collateral or information to transition the curiosity to allow you to share a vision
Share a vision: utilize the information provided in the previous step to prove reason, impacts, and capabilities to share a vision
Manage and develop a vision: 80% of the work is to manage and develop the shared vision through signed contract, execution, delivery, and expectation management
Thrive: when your customers sell for you.

Reach Your Goals Faster
Choosing to detach from an outcome, can seem extremely conflictual, and it is hard for people to understand. One of the common questions I get is this: “How do you have goals yet remain detached from an outcome?” The truth is, I’m very driven toward the goals I set. I try to take my ego and time, two driving factors for many, out of my goal setting. What I do is this: I set a goal, and at the same time, I detach my happiness from the goal.I do not create an immediate plan to get to my goal. My plan, when I start out, is simply to provide value toward that overall goal every single day, making sure I put forth a minimum amount of effort toward the achievements I want and “raising the bar” each day as I proceed, in order to build momentum.
