I May Destroy You
We've been WAITING to do an episode on I May Destroy You! Michaela Coel is one of the best creatives of our time, for real. Now that the season finale has aired here in the US, we wanted to talk about our love for the series, and, of course, the looks by costume designer Lynsey Moore. OBSESSED! Marie might even buy a pair of jeans, that's how serious we are about the fashions. Also, Blaire has a wild theory about the show. Show notes: Lynsey Moore's Instagram where she gives loads of details on the looks! 13 Going on 30 With Special Guest Gabby Noone
What if you woke up one day...and were suddenly 30 and a "big time magazine editor" in New York City?! Yes, we're talking about 13 Going on 30, the 2004 fantasy rom-com starring Jennifer Garner, and we have a special guest, the writer and author of Layoverland, Gabby Noone! We discuss the movie's tiny designer bags, statement necklaces, Blaire's vintage CBGB shirt, and the movie's missed opportunity for a wardrobe montage. Plus, outfits to die in, fashion trends "being on pause" because of COVID, and a compelling argument for a Pucci comeback. Costumes by Susie DeSanto! Show notes: Follow Gabby Noone on Twitter and Instagram. Buy Layoverland at your local indie bookstore (or Amazon). Christa B. Allen (young Jenna Rink) recreates the movie's scenes on TikTok For visuals of the costumes, follow us on Instagram at @fishnetflixpod DM or email your movie requests at info@fishnetflix.com

Camp Nowhere
Camp kids, unite! It’s Fishnet Flix for tha children with our first ever kids-themed episode! Marie’s nephews, Mason and Grant, requested we watch the 1994 summertime comedy Camp Nowhere. This fun 'lil flick is about a kid named Mud who teams up with his friends to pull off the greatest con of their prepubescent lives—a completely made-up summer camp with no adult supervision! There are a surprising amount of good outfits in this movie from costume designer Sherry Thompson (Blossom, 7th Heaven) including a variety of Coogi sweaters! (Who can tell us how to pronounce Coogi?) Plus, we discuss Andrew “Mr. Steal Your Girl” Keegan and his “spiritual group.” Also cameos from many familiar faces including an actual cult member. Coogi sweaters were NOT Cosby sweaters: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/the-truth-about-cosby-sweaters/ Marie’s OG Andrew Keegan Kombucha cult article on Jezebel: https://jezebel.com/andrew-keegans-cult-gets-busted-for-slanging-illegal-ko-1704636612 Inside '90s Heartthrob-Turned-Spiritual Guide Andrew Keegan's "Full Circle:" https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/inside-90s-heartthrob-turned-spiritual-guide-andrew-keegans/story?id=30709497 The History of Diet Cherry Coke in Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_Cherry For visuals of the costumes, follow us on Instagram at @fishnetflixpod DM or email your movie requests at info@fishnetflix.com

Coming to America
In Coming to America, Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) decides to venture from his Zamunda palace to New York City’s Queens, with the hope of finding his own queen to marry. This 1988 classic comedy is not only blessed by Murphy’s comedic genius, but also Deborah Landis’s costume mastery. Blaire and Marie fawn over the extravagant fur shawls, gold lace gowns, and oversized scrunchies before the episode goes off the rails and they start talking about aliens, Glenn Danzig, and Blaire’s (new) online shopping habit. Life-Size
In the 2000 movie Life-Size, a young Lindsay Lohan performs (Disney-friendly) necromancy to resurrect her deceased mom, but accidentally brings her Eve doll, aka Tyra Banks, to life instead! Bright colors, coordinating sets, and Barbie doll gowns, courtesy of costume designer Maya Mani, serve as eye candy for this fun film. Let us know what you’d add to cart! I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
We're going straight to the sequel for I Know What You Did Last Summer specifically for the presence of Ms. Brandy Norwood, and we're so glad we did! Costume designer Daniel J. Lester (Once Upon a Time, Spawn) put Brandy, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Co. in looks that are perfect for the film's tropical island setting. There may not be a ton of outfits in this late '90s slasher, but the ones we have are daaamn good. Even Marie, a typical beige-hater, loves J-Love's uber neutral 'fits. What are you waiting for??? Can't Hardly Wait
Congratulations to the graduating class of 1998! In Can’t Hardly Wait, Preston (played by a stoned Ethan Embry) spends the entire night looking for Amanda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to finally profess his love! As Blaire says in the ep, take a shot when you recognize someone, whether it’s Melissa Joan Hart, Seth Green, Clea Duvall, Selma Blair, Jason Segel, and many more. Costumes by Mark Bridges (Phantom Thread, Joker). Share your embarrassing graduation outfits with us at @fishnetflixpod on Instagram!
