Children are our Teachers | A Conversation about Parenting with Natasha
Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) and I discuss many topics surrounding parenting: respectful parenting is not about compliance, feeling guilt as a parent serves a very important purpose for growth, chemicals in food and technology can hijack children (and adults) brains inhibiting natural instincts and intuition, how to talk to children about nutrition, and asking yourself the very important question of, "Am I being the adult I want my child to grow up to become?" because children model behavior they are shown.

Fertility Issues, a Drug-Free Hospital Birth, then a Homebirth | Natasha’s Story
Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) shares her personal journey through fertility issues, multiple miscarriages, a straight-forward, drug-free hospital birth, then most recently, a homebirth with her second son that rocked her and created a lot of emotional turmoil from mind expectations. We discuss how an important aspect to hospital birth outcomes (good and bad) is the hospital staff working that day. Natasha also shares that one of the most unexpected mind issues with her homebirth was her desire to host and take care of her midwives while she was in labor (now she realizes that this is a common theme among women who homebirth). Part 2 of this conversation is a discussion with Natasha about conscious/respectful parenting.

Healing Postpartum Anxiety & Recurrent Miscarriages | Samantha’s Story
Samantha (@hellomama.nutrition on instagram) shares her first conventional hospital birth story, with postpartum anxiety that followed and lasted for two years. Doctors weren’t interested in helping her so she took her health into her own hands, healing her anxiety, igniting a new passion for nutrition, health, and helping educate mothers about true nourishment. Then after multiple miscarriages, she looked even deeper into her health again, healing her body on her own, without the help of western medicine. Her next birth was a home birth, but she had complex emotions that surfaced when the birth was so much harder and darker than she expected. Lastly, she speaks on not being a parent on auto-pilot. Years into parenting her first daughter, she realized she was parenting in fear, using intimidation and discipline, and it didn't feel good for herself or her daughter, so she changed her ways.

Part 2: I Don’t Want My ’Old Self’ Back | Tay’s Mother Wisdom
The presence and intention Tay brings to her mothering is unlike anything I have ever witnessed. We discuss her mothering journey with her son, which includes, elimination communication (offering the toilet to her son in infancy), breastfeeding, waiting a year to leave her son for the first time, and why she doesn’t own any baby accessories (no bottles, pacifiers, breast pumps, crib, etc.). We talk deeply about many topics surrounding motherhood, like when mother's betray themselves or their babies, their body tells them through heartbreak, anxiety, or depression. There is so much wisdom from Tay in this episode I highly recommend re-listening a second or third time.

Part 1: Shedding Maidenhood Before Pregnancy | Tay’s Freebirth Story
Tay is one of the most unique humans I have ever met. Her story encapsulates what is possible for all women in birth and postpartum. She stepped into Mother energy before conception, releasing her Maidenhood and the maiden's need for external validation and an authority figure. Tay was her own authority throughout each step: pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. She had a simple, wild pregnancy, without any prenatal care or appointments or tests, a freebirth in her home with just her husband and parents, and an unbelievable, "psychedelic" postpartum where she describes falling in love with her husband again, and her new son, and receiving spiritual downloads from God. Her story is incredibly unique and perhaps unrelatable to many, but the ease and bliss she experienced in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, is indeed available to all women, not just her.
