Radical Honesty: Do you Secretly Enjoy the Pain in Your Life?

I was introduced to the concept of Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott and it blew my mind. The truth is, most of us secretly benefit from the pain and suffering in our life, we're just not aware and not willing to be honesty about it. For example: if we are chronically sick, we are probably filling the emotional need of love, attention, and being cared for, so in all honesty, being sick, brings us many benefits. In this episode I discuss the shadow work I have been doing and sharing the insights, like... how could I be benefiting from "infertility?" I discovered that I actually do benefit! I also discuss how what we desire we also fear and that we all have thresholds, "ceilings" on how much money we think is appropriate to make.   Please email wisewomendiaries@gmail.com if you have a "kink story" you would love to share on this podcast!

The Realities of IVF No One Talks About | Andrea’s Story

The successes of IVF are common stories, but no one talks about the possibility of  constant heartbreak in the journey of IVF, the consequences of the hormone drugs, and the dark side of the fertility business. Andrea shares with us her fertility journey- how she faced her victimhood and blossomed into a more trusting, heart-centered woman through it all.  She credits working with Patty Markham Peterson (my mom!) to shift out of victim mindset and into a grander, spiritual perspective that helped her anchor into Peace. (instagram @pattymarkhampeterson) Please email wisewomendiaries@gmail.com if you want to share your own story of the dark realities of the medical fertility business or if you experienced fertility issues and were able to shed a victim mindset.

Children are our Teachers | A Conversation about Parenting with Natasha

Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) and I discuss many topics surrounding parenting: respectful parenting is not about compliance, feeling guilt as a parent serves a very important purpose for growth, chemicals in food and technology can hijack children (and adults) brains inhibiting natural instincts and intuition, how to talk to children about nutrition, and asking yourself the very important question of, "Am I being the adult I want my child to grow up to become?" because children model behavior they are shown.

Fertility Issues, a Drug-Free Hospital Birth, then a Homebirth | Natasha’s Story

Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) shares her personal journey through fertility issues, multiple miscarriages, a straight-forward, drug-free hospital birth, then most recently, a homebirth with her second son that rocked her and created a lot of emotional turmoil from mind expectations. We discuss how an important aspect to hospital birth outcomes (good and bad) is the hospital staff working that day. Natasha also shares that one of the most unexpected mind issues with her homebirth was her desire to host and take care of her midwives while she was in labor (now she realizes that this is a common theme among women who homebirth). Part 2 of this conversation is a discussion with Natasha about conscious/respectful parenting.
