Sara starts by sharing her story, how she committed to turning her life around with the 12 step program, and why she wanted to become a lawyer! She is now 6 years sober, married with two kids. Sara is kind enough to share her story about applying for the bar and going through the Character and Fitness process. She had to share all about her criminal history, revealing everything! When the board 1st saw her application, they didn’t approve her but had her come in for an interview. One of the 4 options the board can pick from for an applicant. As of August 2021, the Oklahoma Bar approves Sara as a FIT junior attorney and we couldn't agree more! Alison went to Florida International University, where she majored in psychology and criminal justice, and she shares that psychology helped the most with law school because she had to write a TON! She shares all things about her law school and legal journey up until now. Alison started out as wanting to be a fashion designer, but that didn’t last long. She shares her mistakes and what she learned and how she focused on financial aid and location when choosing her law school. Alison shares her experience with St. Thomas in Miami. She also took criminal procedure and appellate advocacy. She attended a TPR trial and experienced something you don’t see often in court, listen to find out what happened! Alison talks about applying for law review and why she decided to put in the hard work even when it didn’t sound like very much fun! Back in 2018 Alison started doing creative work for the law firm she was at. She says learning on the job was real, but it paid off because now she has her own business creating content for lawyers and law firms. Helping create a plan, goal and get started! Chloe, like many of us, felt the struggle during 1L, especially with cold calls!!! #blindsided After 1L Chloe was apart of Harvard's Covid-19 Summer Institute - learning different critical theories through the lens of critical race theory- thinking about the law and how critical race theory can inform how we advocate -- they matched us with a different advocacy groups across the country -- her’s was Center for Workers Right, in Sacramento California  -- she helped build and extended her fellowship for even longer! This summer she is currently working at two labor and employment law firms. As far as what Chloe will do later in life, she wants to help the working class people, maybe through policy work, and who knows maybe one day she will join the Ladies at their female power firm!
