World Series Game 6 Preview: Will Dodgers regret not pitching Buehler? (10/27)
Today's word of the day is 'regret' as looking back on a decision you made as in will the Dodgers regret not starting Walker Buehler tonight? It's Game 6 of the World Series and Dave Roberts has decided to go with Tony Gonsolin. The Tampa Bay Rays are going with Blake Snell. Is this a mistake? Buehler is the Dodgers ace and holding him off for a possible Game 7 seems like the wrong choice. The Rays have been abysmal at the plate capped off with Mike Zunino hitting .000 in the World Series. So why not pitch the ace (0:06)? Review: The Trial of the Chicago 7 (17:40). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked if I had a goodbye call with the Marlins like the Wilpon's did with the New York Mets (26:00). Time for a business discussion re:MLB. Teams are laying off dozens of people on both sides of the business. Let’s go inside the decision making process and how a team owner and president navigate the pandemic waters. I have great experience in this area (38:10). #waittosee---------------------------'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. World Series recap: Dodgers one game away from rings; Kershaw silences the haters again
Today's word of the day is 'narrative' as in changing the storyline as in Clayton Kershaw comes out for a second time in the World Series and shuts down the Tampa Bay Rays. Now the Los Angeles Dodgers are one game away from winning the whole thing. So let's talk about Clayton Kershaw and how his critics can never say another bad thing about him in the postseason again (0:06). Let's also talk about what happened in Game 4. The Dodgers could have wrapped up the World Series on Saturday night, but they blew it on one of the biggest Bad News Bears plays of all time. So what are these teams doing on the off day on Monday? I've been there so listen to me (7:06). NFL Week 7 has come and gone. Dallas Cowboys are in a lot of trouble right now. Andy Dalton is in at QB for the team and he gets crushed and leaves the game. 7th round draft pick Ben DiNucci had to come in and play... bad news for Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones again (21:45). Antonio Brown has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reports were flying around that this was all a Tom Brady move. Well, Bruce Arians said Brady had nothing to do with this... it was all Arians and GM Jason Licht (22:30). Review - Borat Subsequent Movie film: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (28:00). What in the world is happening with the NBA? Reports were that the NBA wasn't going to start until January 2021 then there were reports that there could maybe possibly be a bubble, and NOW there are reports that the NBA is looking to start right around Christmas Day 2020 and it would be 72 games long with no All Star Game. Why exactly would they want to do that? TV rights fees (31:15). Northwestern and its president have a problem. Let’s discuss and say whether Morty Shapiro will step down... will he (39:00)? #waittosee Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

World Series Game 3: No comparing Mookie Betts to Mike Trout (10/23)
Today's word of the day is 'October' as in postseason baseball is here as in recency bias is here as well. Is Mookie Betts the best player in baseball? No. He's a phenomenal baseball player, but Mike Trout is clearly the best. Why would people think this changed? Because we never get to see Trout play October baseball. Here is why teams spend so much time fighting against recency bias (0:06). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on Russell Wilson openly stumping for the Antonio Brown to get another chance in the NFL. Will the Seattle Seahawks sign? Does he deserve another chance (15:55)? Big Ten football is back! Today is the day. So what rules have they implemented this season? What's going on in Michigan right now? Let me explain (27:50). Review - Time (documentary) (35:40). The final Presidential Debate happened last night. What went different in this one? The final look at President Trump and former Vice President Biden before November 3rd Election Day. Get out and vote (43:30). #waittosee---------------------------'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. World Series Game 2 Recap: The Rays bats wake up, Snell pitches a gem (10/22)
Today's word of the day is 'Yogi' as in Yogi Berra as in it ain't over til it's over as in the Tampa Bay Rays are back in the series after winning Game 2 of the World Series. How'd the Rays get it done? Blake Snell shut down the Los Angeles Dodgers for majority of the game. The Dodgers got some runs back on the board, but it wasn't enough. The Rays unlikely star of the game was Brandon Lowe, who was 4-for-52 entering the game from the plate. Now that the series is tied 1-1, what is each team talking about in the clubhouse (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about what's going on at LSU right now. On Wednesday the school announced self-imposed penalties after an NCAA investigation into improper benefits. The question posed to me was - do self-imposed penalties work? Hmm (15:34). Review - The Gentlemen (27:30). Ryan Fitzpatrick has been benched by the Miami Dolphins so that Tua Tagovailoa can play. The Dolphins are 3-3 on the season and enter a bye week. Let's read into Fitzpatrick's quotes about his feelings toward getting benched (30:20). Stan Van Gundy will be the new head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans. This is big news for Zion Williamson. But, here's the real story in my eyes. How could Van Gundy work for someone like Gayle Benson (34:25)? WNBA Seattle Storm owners have gone public in endorsing Biden/Harris. A very rare move in sports. Was going public here the right bid decision (42:35)? #waittosee---------------------------'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. World Series Game 1: Kershaw quiets the haters; Dallas Cowboys have MAJOR problem (10/21)
Today's word of the day is 'shhh' as in shhhhhhh as in to shush as in to quiet down as in last night Clayton Kershaw silenced all his haters last night in Game 1 of the World Series. The label 'Postseason Kershaw' was stuck on him as if it were something that were true. Well, last night he not only shut down his haters, he shut down the Tampa Bay Rays. Who else was mad last night? Boston Red Sox fans as Mookie Betts went absolutely crazy for the Dodgers. Stolen bases, runs scored, and a home run. That'll do it (). Why did the Rays stop being the Rays? Pitching Tyler Glasnow when he clearly didn't have it in the 4th inning. Kevin Cash got away from the Rays gameplan (0:06). What will happen in Game 2 (16:38)? Let's give an update on the New York Mets and the journey Steve Cohen has been on to buy the team. Where does this deal stand (21:00)? Review - Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (30:30). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what in the world is happening with the Dallas Cowboys. First it was the Dak Prescott contract; now it's a mutiny against Mike McCarthy. How could this be in the first year of McCarthy's tenure in Dallas? Woo boy does Jerry Jones has some problems in Arlington (34:45). Let's end today talking about Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Not great. When will people learn that the mic is ALWAYS on (41:05)? #waittosee---------------------------'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. MLB Postseason views; Daryl Morey was FIRED by the Houston Rockets over China tweet (10/16)
Today's word of the day is 'Barbra Streisand' as in memory as in not having one as in the Atlanta Braves came back from the 15-3 beatdown to absolutely smoke the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5. One of the most important traits of a good team is not having a memory. Clayton Kershaw was on the hill for the Dodgers and by the 6th inning the Atlanta Braves came alive (0:06). What's going on in the ALCS? Carlos Correa put his money where his mouth is and he hit a walkoff home run to extend the series. The Tampa Bay Rays now lead the series 3-2. Can the Astros do the near impossible ()? Review - Ava (). Ty Lue is set to be named the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. He went from assistant on Doc Rivers staff to now the head man. Why did Steve Ballmer go this way with the hire ()? So You Wanna Talk To Samson. Someone asked me how I felt about the Cincinnati Bengals kicking a field goal to ruin the Baltimore Ravens shutout. This should have been a non-story but the Ravens defensive coordinator got angry. Boo hoo (). Players always say all they want to do is win. Le'Veon Bell has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs are an awful tenure with the New York Jets (). Let's end today talking about the Houston Rockets and the Daryl Morey divorce. He sent a tweet about Hong Kong, China lost its minds, the NBA lost billions of dollars, and this is the fallout. Morey 'stepped down' as Rockets GM, but that's not true. Was this the NBA's doing ()? #waittosee------------------------'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts. I am the mush. Dodgers, Astros stay alive with wins (10/15)
Today's word of the day is 'annihilation' as in the Dodgers bats are alive as in the Atlanta Braves allowed 11 first-inning runs to the Los Angeles Dodgers. What went wrong for the Braves? We knew the Los Angeles Dodgers were capable of doing something this great. Is this the spark the Dodgers needed or is this something the Braves will be able to move on from (0:06)? What about the ALCS? The Houston Astros win because of Jose Altuve. Maybe he doesn't have the yips (11:26)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me why there's no mercy rule in MLB. Should there be one? Absolutely not (14:35). Review - Hubie Halloween (25:30). Alabama head coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19. What is the significance of this? What is the impact of coronavirus on college football right now (30:00)? The NFL has new cases on its hands. The Atlanta Falcons had two new positive tests and shut down their facility today. The game against the Minnesota Vikings is on as scheduled. Are the Dodgers and Astros really going to get swept!? (10/14)
Today's word of the day is 'yips' as in one of the worst things to happen in sports as in what's happening right now to Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve. He had ZERO errors in the regular season and last night he had two terrible fielding errors and a bad running situation. What are the yips? What should the Houston Astros do with Altuve to help him (0:06)? What's happening in the National League? More and more problems for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw was scratched from Game 2 and they lost. The Atlanta Braves are up 2-0 and Kershaw may not be ready for Game 3 and hopeful for Game 4. This is as bad as it gets for the Dodgers (9:30). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the comments Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner made about his current ball club (15:00). Review - Crip Camp (26:30). J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! Le'Veon Bell was released by the New York Jets last night. The team tried to trade him and couldn't. The Jets are a disaster. Adam Gase makes it another game. What is going on with sports teams in New York (33:50)? The Premier Leauge is going through some drama. Manchester United and Liverpool want to restructure the entire league and it's not good for small clubs (40:00). IT'S OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! ONE WHOLE YEAR WITH US AND IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU!
