Ideas Have Consequences
Everything that we see around us is the product of ideas, of ideologies, of worldviews. That's where everything starts. Worldviews are not all the same, and the differences matter a lot. How do you judge a tree? By its fruits. How do you judge a worldview? By its physical, tangible, observable fruit. The things it produces. Ideas that are noble and true produce beauty, abundance, and human flourishing. Poisonous ideas produce ugliness. They destroy and dehumanize. It really is that simple. Welcome to Ideas Have Consequences, the podcast of Disciple Nations Alliance, where we prepare followers of Christ to better understand the true ideas that lead to human flourishing while fighting against poisonous ideas that destroy nations. Join us, and prepare your minds for action!

The Grand Design: Rediscovering Male and Female in the Image of God with Darrow Miller
Darrow Miller’s newest book, “The Grand Design: Rediscovering Male and Female in the Image of God,” will be out in two weeks. Explore with us what it means to be transcendently and biologically human, male and female, made in the image of God. The Grand Design captures and restores a vision for what God has imagined for the human family, in all of its beauty. This biblical standard has potential to produce freedom and flourishing on one hand, or immense evil and harm when it is ignored. The impact is felt not only on individual levels, but even nationally and we are seeing the results all around us today. Bonus Episode-Stand: Christianity vs. Critical Theory
Let's dissect the entanglement of Marxism, Critical Theory, and the biblical worldview. For this bonus discussion, we want to explain what this new social justice movement has to do with our commission to disciple the nations. We delve into how the worldview ideas in this movement contrast with the biblical understanding of power, humanity, and forgiveness and how each of us can continue to hold these biblical definitions and, in so doing, disciple our nations.

Stand: Christianity vs. Social Justice with Pastor Jon Benzinger
Critical race theory and cultural Marxism dominate education, big business, media, and our societal discourse, but why and how has it also infiltrated the Church? Join us as we grapple with the onslaught of critical theory and social justice ideologies that we see in many churches with Jon Benzinger who is a friend, pastor, and author of Stand: Christianity vs. Social Justice. Even though the BLM riots of 2020 are behind us, the Neo-Marxist worldview driving the new social justice movement has not slowed. Principles to Rethink Education
As many are realizing, the education system is not teaching a neutral worldview because there’s no such thing as a neutral worldview. Instead, most students today are being discipled in an atheistic, secular, materialistic ideology that directly opposes the Bible. What core principles for education can we discern from the Bible that can help us approach every area of study? What is God’s view of math, science, history, and art?Go deeper with the transcript and recommended resources on the Episode Landing Page!Disciple Nations Alliance Website

Don’t Let Schooling Stand in the Way of Education with Christian Overman and Darrow Miller
Most of us have received twelve or more years of “education.” But why did we go to school? What is the purpose of education? And is there a difference between schooling and education? We argue that there is a difference, and in fact, education is more closely related to discipleship than schooling. If that is the case, then can we even call the twelve-plus years of learning we underwent an education? Today Darrow Miller and guest Christian Overman unpack their book, Don’t Let Schooling Stand in the Way of Education: A Biblical Response to the Crisis in Public Education. Crisis is not hyperbolic, and as the church, we urgently need to understand the theology of education.Episode Landing Page with transcript, key quotes, and links to go deeper!Disciple Nations Alliance Website

Black America Looks Back to Move Forward with Bob Woodson
Bob Woodson's heart is to see impoverished inner city black communities discipled. He has dedicated his entire life, from his first experiences growing up during Jim Crow to leading civil rights marches in the '60s to today serving black America to "empower community-based leaders to promote solutions that reduce crime and violence, restore families, revitalize underserved communities, and assist in the creation of economic enterprise" (Woodson Center, Mission). Woodson is a man we can all learn from. He often tells stories of resilient black Americans who rose above their circumstances to love and serve their neighbors. However, as you listen to this episode, you'll hear how his own testimony is marked by resiliency. Business, Witchcraft, and Racism with Dennis Tongoi
One of the easiest ways to experience the power of worldview is to be confronted by another. Today we had the honor of speaking with Dr. Dennis Tongoi from Kenya to hear his take on various issues from both a biblical worldview perspective and a counter-cultural one. In this episode, Dr. Tongoi shares an African purview on race relations in the U.S. and his proposed antidote. Additionally, we hear his thoughts on how to approach business as a Christian whose KPIs (key performance indicators) are deeper than profit, how fear is the antithesis to love, and what he thinks is the most significant difference between Africa and the West.
