066: Thomas Seyfried - Upending Traditional Cancer Treatment with Ketosis, Fasting, and Hyperbaric Oxygen

After researching how ketosis combats seizures in children with epilepsy, Dr. Thomas Seyfried realized that it could have even more of an impact. This time, he set out to see what the research showed when it comes to combating tumor growth and cancer in patients.  What he discovered was nothing short of incredible. His research proved that cancer is a metabolic disease -- similar to type 1 or 2 diabetes, not a genetic one. So your genes, or even genetic mutations, don’t cause cancer. And since cancer is a metabolic disruption, there are ways to restore balance and reduce the size of cancer tumors. But those science-backed strategies don’t involve the typical cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation.   Instead, Dr. Seyfried’s research showed that ketosis, fasting, and hyperbaric oxygen were more effective at treating tumor growth. You’ll hear more about this and everything else he’s discovered over decades of research when you tune into the episode. And if you haven’t come across Dr. Seyfried’s work yet, he wrote the book, Cancer as a Metabolic Disease, and has over 150 peer-reviewed publications. This episode is jam-packed with information and it’s one you don’t want to miss. Check out the episode now to learn more.
