Renew Your Mind

Brody Holloway | Pure & Holy | Saturday MorningWe’ve got to be responsible for our own walks with the Lord. Jesus guides and directs us but we need to be in tune to Him. Today, Brody walks through Romans 12 and what it looks like to constantly be renewing your mind. Through Christ, we’ve been given a right standing before God. Jesus took on the punishment we deserve. Believers, remember that you’re no longer enslaved to sin. But since you live in a fallen world you’ve got to be fighting. It only makes sense to give all that you have to offer to the Lord. We’re not living to earn His approval but out of obedience of His love for us. The world wants you to reject God’s design. So renew your mind daily and be the man/woman God has called you to be. ResourcesRomans 12Learn more about our student and adult conferences at Swoutfitters.com. P.S. Jesus & His Bride

Rob Conti | Pure & Holy | Friday NightIn this sermon, Rob looks at the story of the Samaritan woman at the well and how Jesus lovingly and boldly calls out her sin. There is no relationship with Jesus that doesn’t start with repentance. There is no sharing the gospel without dealing with sin. It has to become personal, we need to see our need for a Savior. This world cannot satisfy our souls, it will not meet the desires of our heart.Jesus is the Groom coming for His Bride. The woman represents all of us: the Church, the Bride of Christ. Spiritually this woman was dry, but Jesus offers living water that can satisfy our souls. Jesus looks for us in our brokenness and in our sin, and he makes us holy, pure, and blameless. We all need a Savior. Call out to Him to rescue you. Then go tell everyone about the hope you have found.ResourcesJohn 4:1-10Genesis 24Genesis 29Exodus 2:11Learn more about our student and adult conferences at Swoutfitters.com. P.S. The Freedom in Christ

Brody Holloway | Winter SWO | John 8 There’s an excitement believers experience when they first come to know the Lord. But you will face times in your life when you’re no longer excited about being a Christian. Your parent’s salvation won’t magically transfer to you. Freedom doesn’t come from your spiritual lineage. Religious behavior doesn’t make you a Christian. Guard yourself against self-righteousness. We will fail and fall short but we have to keep pursuing Jesus. Freedom from sins is found in Christ alone.Jesus offers us freedom from our sins to live as men and women of God. If you are practicing sin, then you are a slave to sin. We’re called to abide in Him by living under the authority of His word. You’re free from the dominion of sin, but the presence of sin is still very real in this world. In your own strength, you will lose but we have the Holy Spirit in us. Spend time pursuing the Lord through His word and He will grow you. His word will stabilize you to stand against your generation. ResourcesJohn 8 Learn more about our student and adult conferences at Swoutfitters.com. P.S. The Bread of Life that Satisfies Eternally

Spencer Davis | Winter SWO | Exodus 17 & John 6In Exodus 17 and John 6 we see a theme of people wanting their physical needs met by God but not God Himself. The Israelites complained to God about not having water to drink when He just provided bread from heaven for them. They wanted to manipulate God instead of trusting His provision. Jesus tests Philip in John 6, asking him how they were going to get enough bread to feed 5,000 people. Philip answers him through earthly eyes, instead of recognizing that He was talking to God Himself. The bread of God is He who comes down and gives eternal life to the world. Jesus is the bread of life, and the people miss it. The bread is just a sign pointing to Him. He didn’t come to be used but He came to offer us eternal life. They wanted to make Him king because of the bread. They didn’t want Him to take away their sins but their hunger. Our hope shouldn’t be in the physical world. We should not be trading the eternally great and all-satisfying Jesus with worldly things. He is what will satisfy our souls. He is the true bread. Hoping in Christ will never disappoint. The Bronze Serpent & The Son of Man

Rob Conti | Winter SWO | John 3 The darkness of sin lives inside of us. And apart from Christ, that sin causes our death. There is no amount of good works that can save your soul. Our only hope is to believe and trust in Jesus. The Gospel of John was written so that we could know and see that Jesus is God—and have life in Him. Our sin demands death, but the curse of sin is removed in Jesus. In John, we see Jesus handing Himself over to be crucified. He gave Himself up knowing everything that would happen to Him.  Jesus alone bore the weight of our sin. He who knew no sin, but became sin for you.  For the joy of saving you, He crushed Satan and provided a perfect righteousness for us. The Son of Man had to be lifted up so people could see him more clearly. Jesus is the Lamb of God and he offers us something eternally better than anything else. He made you and He loves you. Don’t ignore the Light. ResourcesJohn 8John 3John 12John 19Hebrews 12:1-2Learn more about our student and adult conferences at Swoutfitters.com. P.S. Jesus Breaks Down All Barriers

Brody Holloway | Winter SWO | John 4We have the answers to today's social issues in the life of Jesus. During Jesus’ life on earth, He crushed barriers to race, culture, and religion. You need to guard yourself against finding answers to social issues in this world. In John 4, Jesus passes through Samaria just to meet the woman at the well. He gave her value and showed her that He alone can satisfy the longings of her heart. Jesus shows us how to shatter social barriers. You can be the one to break barriers but only through the Gospel. Jesus alone can heal our wounded hearts. He assigns us value and determines our purpose. Don’t put your value in this world. Guard yourself against finding your worth in things that are fleeting. He alone will give you abundant life. ResourcesJohn 4John 7Learn more about our student and adult conferences at https://www.swoutfitters.com/P.S. The Preexistence of Jesus

Brody Holloway | Winter SWO | John 1 Jesus is eternally preexistent. He is the true light and He came into the world to save us. God created a perfect world. He created people in His own image, calling them to be obedient so they could worship Him. Then they sinned and poison came into the world, which affected everything. Jesus came to rescue us from the wrath that we deserve. Long before we were created, He already had a plan to save us.Jesus, the very revelation of God, was despised by those He came to save. The light of the world had been revealed and then it was rejected. Through Him, we’ve received grace upon grace. We need to have a constant awareness of the grace that’s been given to us to remind us to be gracious to others. There are aspects to God that we won’t ever understand. We can’t even figure another human out. God is preexistent, He existed before all of time. Before space and matter. You have a mission to the Gospel, go and tell everyone.ResourcesJohn 1Hebrews 1Colossians 1Learn more about our student and adult conferences at https://www.swoutfitters.com/P.S. Hand to the Plow

Spencer Davis | College Retreat | Sunday MorningSo many people reject Christ in pursuit of freedom. We want to do what we want with our lives, but there is a real risk in loving something else more than Christ. You either follow Him completely or you reject Him completely. It can’t just be a surface level following, Jesus wants it all. There is nothing new under the sun. There have always been people around Jesus but not truly following Him. Oftentimes we want a loophole and we want to game the system. But that’s not serving Jesus, that’s just serving ourselves. This is a heart issue. You need to give up the right to call the shots in your life. Stay focused and refuse to associate with who you once were. You can’t plow looking backward. There will be competing loves in this life but fight distractions and take up your cross daily. If you’re in Christ, you will endure until the end. The Narrow Way of Christ

Brody Holloway | College Retreat | Saturday NightBeliever, you are called to action. There is an expectation placed on you to follow Christ faithfully. The way of the Christian life is narrow and difficult, and even the gate itself is narrow. This means things must be left outside of it. We leave our old selves and the world behind. The wide gate seems so much easier but it’s not in the long run. Anything of high value will cost you something. Following Christ leads to lasting joy through expensive grace. In the face of so-called “deconstructions of faith”, God has deconstructed what the world values. The world merely celebrates what Jesus actually died for. Social movements of the world have no eternal value compared to the work of the cross. Beware of false prophets and keep your hands on the plow. Fix your eyes on Christ and lead the fight. ResourcesCollege Retreat infoMatthew 7Galatians 1Learn more about our student and adult conferences at https://www.swoutfitters.com/P.S.
