Mira holds a doctoral degree in Law and worked in legal consulting focusing on international investment protection for more than a decade. Today she works with startups and tech companies, closely collaborating with developers, product designers and management teams. He was also in charge of the corporate intelligence unit of the Banco Sabadell in Mexico, and the deputy director of strategic liaison of human rights at Mexico City. He's graduated with honors from a master's degree in international studies from the National University in Mexico. And he's taught courses on the legal aspects for the use of force and the maintenance of public order. Today we are joined by Mary Ana McGlasson. Mary Ana holds dual Masters degrees in public policy and nursing from Princeton University and the University of Washington. She is the Director of the Center for Humanitarian Leadership, and an Associate Professor, with almost 20 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a decade of international-based roles designing, implementing and overseeing humanitarian and development programs. Mary Ana’s humanitarian experience covers a wide range of contexts in Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, in roles including Country Director, Global Emergency Response Coordinator and Global Health Advisor. She has designed and managed humanitarian programs across a wide range of disciplines including epidemic response; conflict, post-conflict and refugee health systems; emergency WASH-related services for refugees and IDPs; microfinance and women’s empowerment; natural disaster response; and community-based peacebuilding. Episode 16: with Steve Walter from the Oceanside Police Department
Today we are joined by Steve Walter. Steve supervises the crime analysis and intelligence unit at the Oceanside police department in Oceanside, California. He manages the department's intelligence strategy and provides threat assessments during periods of civil unrest working closely with neighbouring police agencies, the FBI and the San Diego law enforcement Coordination Center. Steve also supervises the department's terrorism liaison officer program and serves as the coordinator and lead instructor for its annual terrorism training course. Steve is a former president of the San Diego crime and intelligence analysis Association and a frequent guest speaker for the International Association of crime analysts. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts and Communication from Lewis and Clark College in beautiful Portland, Oregon, and a master's degree in contemporary British history, Queen Mary College and the University of London. Episode 15: with Stine Lyshaug Olsen from the Norwegian Shipowners Mutual War Risk Insurance Association
Today we're joined by Stine Lyshaug Olsen. Stine is currently a senior intelligence and operations adviser with the Norwegian shipowners mutual war risk Insurance Association, where she focuses on maritime security in and around the Gulf countries, and specifically providing threat assessments for shipowners operating and trading in the Gulf. She holds a master's degree in security management from the University of Copenhagen, with a thesis focusing on experiences from cost sectorial crisis management. Since her Bachelor thesis on political influence among female networks in Sanna in Yemen, and her degree in development studies 15 years ago, she's been interested in the Middle East, and since then, she's had the privilege to expand her knowledge and expertise into the region. prior experience includes eight years with the Norwegian armed forces in various positions, including several deployments of security coordinator with the Norwegian Red Cross. And before joining the DMK for shipowners mutual risk Association, she was with the OSC in eastern Ukraine as a monitoring officer. All positions have included elements of either providing risk assessments or hearing to them, which is stimulated her curiosity is how both individuals and organizations understand and act in regards to risk.Tell us what you liked!

Episode 14: with Phil Gurski from Borealis Threat and Risk consulting
Today we're joined by Phil Gursky, the President and CEO of Borealis Threat and Risk consulting. He's also a program director for the security economics and technology hub at the University of Ottawa's Professional Development Institute. He worked as a senior strategic analyst at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service from 2001 to 2015, where he specialized in violent Islamic inspired homegrown terrorism and radicalisation from 1983 to 2001. He was also employed as a senior multilingual analyst at the communications security establishment CSCs Canada's signals intelligence agency, where he specialized in the Middle East. He's the author of six books on terrorism, and soon to release another. We will talk today about the current terrorist threats worldwide and how to tackle those correctly. Tell us what you liked!

Episode 13: with Titta Lassila from Save the Children
Titta grew up in Finland, and from an early age, she was passionate about environmental issues. During and after finishing her master's degree in environmental biology she worked for different environmental organisations in Finland with themes varying from international environmental and development policy to tropical forest protection and sustainable rural development. During the years in conservation, and from experience in Madagascar, Peru, Indonesia and Argentina, she realised that it wasn't the planet that needed protection but the people, which made her an advocate for environmental and climate justice.
