020. "Sugar helped me cope with trauma": Marla

Marla's childhood was filled with sugar... She tells how she used sugar to cope with difficult emotional situations in her family life. She now recognizes that she was probably chemically addicted to sugar from a very early age. "Sugar was like a best friend to me" she says. When she was in her late twenties, she decided she had to stop eating sugar, but it wasn't a smooth ride. With the help of a support group, she found freedom from cravings and from her obsession with sugar. She also found mental clarity, was more in touch with her intuition and became a better decision-maker with clearer boundaries. She learned to respect her body and herself more. With sugar no longer masking the pain and her emotions, she learned to take care of herself, and now of her daughter. Listen to her inspiring story. To learn how to get all the benefits of eating less sugar, like more stable energy, download your simple guide here.Do the Cravings Quiz and take the first step to get rid of your cravings! 019. - "The hardest thing for me was cutting out snacking": Keith

When Keith McDonald started to experience a lot of bloating and pain in his stomach, he went to the doctor who told him that he had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and that there was nothing to be done. But then things got worse and the doctors did a scan and told him they would have to remove his spleen. He refused. Instead, he researched his symptoms and linked them to gluten. So he cut out gluten and after two weeks, his symptoms disappeared. Now he knows he's celiac, so he eats accordingly: no wheat, barley, rye, corn, and even some brands of spices because he is super sensitive to gluten. Cutting out gluten helped his joint pain go away, and he did lose some weight, but what really transformed his health was intermittent fasting.  The hardest thing for him was cutting out snacking, but then he felt the benefits of eating better and less often (not less!). And his weight went down and settled at a healthy level. His message for us consumers and patients: You have to be your own advocate. To download your simple guide to getting more energy with less sugar: https://aftersugarclub.com/energy-guide/Do the Cravings Quiz and take the first step to get rid of your cravings! 016. "How I broke my soda habit": Jeff

As a child and into his early twenties, Jeff Gerken drank so much soda that he says he was addicted to it. He also drank juice and chocolate milk - not water. Even though he was doing a lot of sports and running, his weight crept up until he was obese in his 20s and 30s. At first, he thought he needed to do more exercise. Then when he was in his 40s, he realized that he needed to change his diet too.  And he made the connection between the "liquid empty calories" he was drinking (soda) and his weight gain. Listen to his inspiring story of how he changed the habit of a lifetime.Download your simple guide to getting more energy with less sugar here: https://aftersugarclub.com/Do the Cravings Quiz and take the first step to get rid of your cravings! 013. "I used to taste addiction. Now I taste food": Graeme

Graeme lost over 130lbs thanks to cutting sugar and fast food and practising intermittent fasting. The author of "The Fasting Highway" as well as the host of a podcast with the same name, Graeme is an inspiring example of putting his health and well-being first. As a consumer, he learned to read food labels (and to choose foods that don't have labels!) and to become aware of all the hidden sugars. He had to make a huge mindset shift with his relationship to food, but that effort was worth it for all the health benefits that he got. For him, intermittent fasting is a sustainable way of life, and so is being at a healthy weight and feeling great!Download your free simple guide for getting more energy with less sugar here: https://aftersugarclub.com/energy-guide/Do the Cravings Quiz and take the first step to get rid of your cravings!
