Bekah graduated from the Flatiron School Software Engineering program in May of 2019 and since then has spent time as a frontend developer, started the Virtual Coffee developer community, spent time in DevRel and has continued to mom her four kids. She currently co-hosts the Virtual Coffee podcast, tries to work on her postpartum wellness OSS project, and lifts heavy things in her free time. Kris Nóva is an author, engineer, public speaker and transgender activist best known for her work on Aurae, Linux, and Kubernetes. She specializes in Linux kernel security, distributed systems, infrastructure management, and open source software engineering. In 2022 she authored Hacking Capitalism an independently published book about modeling the tech industry as a system. In 2017 she co-authored Cloud Native Infrastructure published by O’Reilly Media with Justin Garrison. Nóva is well known for her open source work. She has created many successful open source projects and has contributed to projects like Linux, Kubernetes, Rust, Go, etc. A popular public speaker, she is best known for her Kubernetes clusterfuck talks.
