Archie - Addiction, Recovery, and Permission to Heal
Well hello, my loves! Thank you for downloading the podcast, my name is Arlina, and I’ll be your host. I’ve been doing a ton of recording lately, with some exciting guests including Michelle Smith from Recovery is The New Black, Brock Bevell from Chase the Vase, and my new friend, Meg Love. There are just so many amazing people doing the work of spreading hope to people who need it most and I can’t wait for you to meet them and fall in love with them as I have. Well today, my guest is Archie Messersmith-Bunting, aka The Feelings Guy. His story is important because until we spoke, I realized there was an underrepresented demographic from the LGBT community, which I intend to correct moving forward. Archie was so much fun to talk to, had such insight and wisdom and I just loved his transparency as he shared his story. One last thing before we jump in, if you could leave a review on iTunes, it will improve the rankings and help people new to recovery find the podcast. So without further ado, please enjoy this conversation, with Archie!

Well hello, my loves! Thank you for downloading the podcast, my name is Arlina, and I’ll be your host. I’ll keep the intro short, but I will share that I have some exciting plans for the podcast. One last thing before we jump in, if you would, please leave a review on iTunes, it helps other people find the podcast and it’s a huge encouragement for me as well. Brad Haber - Hypnotherapy for Addiction, and Relapse Prevention
Well hello, my loves! Thank you for downloading the podcast, my name is Arlina, and I’ll be your host. For those of you who are new to recovery, books are one of the best investments you can make. Audiobooks are my jam, I have over 100 at the moment so there’s that. I actually have a link to Audible.com on the ODAATchat.com website, where you can get your first one free. Also on the website is a loooong list of books that have changed my life - It’s listed at the top of the page under resources. The book currently blowing my hair back is: “Running On Empty” by Jonice Webb and Christine Musello. It’s about Childhood Emotional Neglect and how it affects your self-esteem and relationships, later in life. By adding in audiobooks, you’re spending less time on any negative thoughts, literally edging them out, and replacing it with a positive thought. So get some books, and rewire your brain! Today my guest is Brad Haber, Psychotherapist, Certified Addiction Professional, Certified in Clinical Hypnosis. I’m looking to add hypnotherapy to my personal development and that’s when I came across Brad Haber. I noticed that he specializes in helping people with addictions, which is really important to me, so I asked him to come on the podcast to talk about how hypnotherapy can help people overcome addiction and prevent relapse. One last thing before we jump in, if you would, please leave a review on iTunes, it helps other people find the podcast and it’s a huge encouragement for me as well. So without further ado, please enjoy this conversation, with Brad

Elizabeth Kupferman - The Irreverent Grief Guide: How to F*cking Survive Months 1-3, Eating Disorders, and Doing the Work
Hey Friends! Thank you for downloading the podcast, my name is Arlina, and I’ll be your host. So, it’s with a heavy heart that I share the news, we lost a good friend in our community. We affectionately called him “Big Chris”. He was not only big in stature, but he had a bigger than life personality. He had a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold. If he got up to speak at a meeting, you knew it was going to be good because he was both hilarious and profoundly wise. He was guest #24 on the podcast, and I had to go back and hear his voice again. It was so bittersweet to listen to him tell his story, but I’m forever grateful I had the chance to record that conversation. I’ll leave a link to that episode in the show notes, or you can do a search for Big Chris on the website, at odaatchat.com Episode #24 Big Chris - Sober 29 years, Cocaine, Alcoholism, Dealing with Depression and Sponsorship Click here to listen: http://bit.ly/2DKa7pw Today my guest is Elizabeth Kupferman, who happens to be a grief counselor, and she’s the brilliant creator behind the popular IG account, @advancedbitches (she’s one of us, y’all). Considering how we just lost a friend, I thought it was perfect timing to speak with Elizabeth and discuss her book, “The Irreverent Grief Guide: How to F*cking Survive Months 1-3”. At one point or another, we all need to learn to deal with grief. And if your heart is hurting from grief right now, I hope you find some relief. So without further ado, please enjoy this conversation, with Elizabeth!

Dr Efosa Airuehia on Medicated Assisted Detox, Holistic Recovery and Sleep Hygiene
Hey Friends, Thanks for downloading the podcast! My name is Arlina and I’ll be your host. Before we jump in I have a big announcement to share with you: If you are new to the idea of living an alcohol-free lifestyle or know someone who is, (we’re calling it “Sober Curious” these days) I’m launching a new class called “Sobriety Reset-How to stop drinking for 30 Days” to help you get that first month under your belt. What I want you to know is that you CAN stop drinking - Even through the holidays! You don’t have to have another crappy holiday because you did something you regret on what is supposed to be a special event. The idea behind Sobriety Reset comes from my own torturous experience in my early 20’s when I knew drinking was a problem, but I wasn’t ready for a 12 step program. It’s what I wish I had at the time to save myself the shame and humiliation that comes from drinking too much. At the time, I really didn’t think I was “That Bad” but my life was a mess, romantically, professionally, and even in my friendships, and I just couldn’t figure out how to get a grip on my drinking. I spent 2 painful years suffering through my own research before I finally got what I needed, so my hope is that this course will be a short cut through that process for you and save you from needless heartache and suffering. This is a self-study course with videos, audios, worksheets, and online support, that you can use in the privacy of your own home. It answers big questions like “Am I an alcoholic” and “What will I do for fun” or “How to avoid drinking triggers” and even those embarrassing questions around “Sober Sex”, which is a really big issue. There’s 6 modules in total and some bonus content too. It launches Nov 24th, so head on over to SobrietyReset.com to get notified of when it’s available, and if you do, there will be a special surprise for you! Today my guest is Dr. Efosa Air. He’s got more degrees than a thermometer, and such a passion for helping people out of suffering. I felt so lucky that I got to spend some time with him. He shares some really powerful stories, insights into the mechanics of the brain as it relates to addiction, and many practical solutions to common problems people face early in recovery. He is very accessible and relatable, so don’t be shy! If you would like to connect, you can find him through his website at addictionblueprint.com and Facebook Group. I’ll leave links in the show notes, so head on over to odaatchat.com to get in touch. So with that, please enjoy this episode with Dr. Air!

Danielle - Author of Stroke of Sobriety, The Essential Guide to Embracing the Suck of sobriety
Hey Friends, Thanks for downloading the podcast! My name is Arlina and I’ll be your host. Over the last 26 year, I’ve come to understand that we only allow into our lives what we believe we deserve. Those of us who have suffered through addiction typically come out of it with low self esteem. If you are struggling with self-sabotage and low self esteem, I have a new guide just for you! It’s called “Self Esteem Starter Kit - Top 3 Tools to Rebuild Self-Esteem” You can download it for free at SoberLifeSchool.com. Today my guest is Danielle. She’s got a new book coming out called “Stroke of Sobriety - Essential Guide to Embracing the Suck of sobriety” and if you are in early recovery or know someone who is, this book is a MUST. What I love about being a recovery podcast host is all the brilliant beautiful souls I get to meet. Danielle is fearlessly vulnerable, and courageously transparent. She shares the truth about what happened so that others who are trapped by shame, can find the hope they need to recover. Danielle is super sweet and 100% sassy and I adore her! So with that, please enjoy this conversation with Danielle.

Arlina on Life In Recovery Podcast
Thanks for downloading the podcast! This week’s episode is actually an interview I did on my friend’s podcast, Life in Recovery Podcast with Ren Koi. We are going to talk about a few controversial topics, so I just ask that you keep an open mind. Recovery is not a “one-size-fits-all” endeavor. Everyone is different and there are many many modalities of healing. Ultimately, I respect and honor how people choose to recover. If it helps you and you recover, then God bless you. I appreciate my friend and his thoughtful questions so much. He’s doing great work and he helps a lot of people. He’s a very prolific writer and I actually have the honor of writing the forward of his latest book, “All is one”. It’s a deeply thoughtful book and I’ll have him on my podcast again to talk about it some more. So with that, please enjoy this conversation, with me and my friend Ren!
