He assembles paper cups, plates, bowls, and cutlery on a table and then paints on them in such a way that he ultimately creates remarkable perspective portraits. Ready to Take that Load Off Your Shoulders?
A recent podcast I was listening to mentioned the metaphor of carrying around a bag of bricks, which reminded me of the very first blog post I wrote. The inspiration for my post came out of me doing a guided meditation.Picture this… You’re leading a hiking trip that you’ve thoroughly prepared for. You’ve done your research. You have your destination. You have your map. You planned for the weather. You have all the supplies. You are ready for anything that may come your way.A few miles in, a boulder blocks your path. You charge right up and over it. Later on, you come across a flooded section in a valley. No problem; you are able to leap all the way over to the other side. You are strong and resilient. Nothing can stop you. The sun rises and sets again and again as you continue along your journey. You don’t have much time to slow down and watch; you have to stay focused on your goal. You finally reach your destination, and you are truly stunned, but this isn’t the stunned feeling you expected. What You’ll Learn:- The rest of my metaphorical story of what happened once the destination was reached- The importance of taking care of your own mental and emotional well-being- The power of setting boundaries and avoiding taking on other people's burdens- The impact of compliments from others and the importance of not relying on them to feel good about yourselfResources: - Get my FREE on-demand video training: How to Live Life on Your Own Terms & Timeline (Ditch Life's Guilt & Anxiety — Finally Find More Peace of Mind) https://charisyourlife.com/video- Follow me on Facebook: https://facebook.com/charisyourlife/ - Follow me on LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/charisyourlife/- Follow me on YouTube: https://charisyourlife.com/youtube/- Follow me on Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/charisyourlife/- My website: https://charisyourlife.com/

What if Your Hero was Your Future Self?
The Academy Award ceremony earlier this month reminded me to revisit one of my favorite award acceptance speeches, which was by Matthew McConaughey nearly 10 years ago. He talks about who his hero was at age 15, age 25, and beyond. And I absolutely love how he connected his hero with his future self.In this episode, I not only share that speech with you, but I also go into more depth about the concept of connecting with your future self. I remember one pivotal moment in my past when I faced a tough decision, and I quickly thought about my future self. The more I trusted her, the more aware I was when the best next step revealed itself to me.What You’ll Learn:- What Matthew McConaughey said in his 2014 Oscar acceptance speech about who his hero was when he was younger and who it is now- Who I think my future self is- Why you should consider imagining what your future self would say- The benefits of taking small steps toward your goals and trusting the process of personal growth- How to approach your life as an ongoing journey of self-discovery and self-improvementResources: - Watch Matthew McConaughey’s acceptance speech for Best Actor at the 86th Oscars in 2014: https://youtu.be/wD2cVhC-63I- Get my FREE on-demand video training: How to Live Life on Your Own Terms & Timeline (Ditch Life's Guilt & Anxiety — Finally Find More Peace of Mind) https://charisyourlife.com/video- Follow me on Facebook: https://facebook.com/charisyourlife/ - Follow me on LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/charisyourlife/- Follow me on YouTube: https://charisyourlife.com/youtube/- Follow me on Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/charisyourlife/- My website: https://charisyourlife.com/

Doing Something Just for Fun
When was the last time you did something that was truly just for fun?Is there something you’ve been itching to try for the first time, or maybe try again, and you have no real purpose of doing it besides just having fun? Is there something you’ve made up a story about that you know isn’t true, but that story has given you a great excuse to avoid trying that thing you really would like to do?Don’t let your old stories and excuses keep you from filling your life with fun. A truly fulfilled life is a fun-filled life, and you get to choose your fun. Consider something you’d like to do and commit to taking just the first step. What You'll Learn:- Why I bought a book about watercolors, my (frustrating) history with watercolors, and why I decided to give them another try (after 30+ years)- The importance of having a beginner's mindset and releasing expectations when exploring something new or trying something again- The value of listening to curiosity and taking small steps to find your fun- How rediscovering joy in simple activities can help bring more fun and fulfillment to lifeResources: - Get my FREE on-demand video training: How to Live Life on Your Own Terms & Timeline (Ditch Life's Guilt & Anxiety — Finally Find More Peace of Mind) https://charisyourlife.com/video- Follow me on Instagram: https://instagram.com/charisyourlife - Follow me on Facebook: https://facebook.com/charisyourlife/ - Follow me on LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/charisyourlife/- Follow me on YouTube: https://charisyourlife.com/youtube/- Follow me on Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/charisyourlife/- My website: https://charisyourlife.com/
