It contrasts special relationships in this world with those given over to a Higher Purpose, illustrating the way both the ego and the Spirit seem to work in our lives.The two main characters are brought together by Destiny/Spirit in a powerful vibrational relationship that calls into question everything else in their life. Each of them is already married or engaged to be married, and yet the Spirit has another plan for them. While their current special relationships are based on economics, future goals, and maintaining the status quo, this new relationship assignment is based solely on healing, following one’s heart, and opening to True Love. The main character, Sam, is experiencing the same day over and over again, and struggles with how to escape from the loop. Like Bill Murray’s character in “Groundhog Day”, she goes through an evolution in how she chooses to use the day, until she finally realizes she must use it to be fully in service to all. In the movie, the main character “Mack” has lost his daughter and is dealing with intense guilt and anger. Through a profound spiritual experience, he is able to forgive and find peace once again. This is an extreme depiction of a future society based on reciprocity, personal gain, and people pleasing. It can actually be seen as comical from our perspective. In contrast, knowing yourself provides a solid basis for true happiness.
