The Spirit's purpose for this life is to wake up from the dream of the world, not to attain and achieve. The ego's use of the body, of family and education, is for reinforcing a personal separate identity. But you are Spirit and must unlearn everything the ego has taught you. Your only responsibility is accepting the correction. It is not about dropping worldly responsibilities, but having them all handed to Spirit who would address them through a path of miracles.David says the Course can be summed up in the "Serenity Prayer", recognizing what you can and cannot control and the wisdom to know the difference. What you can control is your state of mind. What you cannot control is the world, and everything associated with the world. David greets his "new neighbors" at this opening to the retreat, and shares his joy with the community's transition to Mexico. The Course showed up as a symbol in David's life as he used it as an oracle, developing a constant dialogue with Spirit. Practicality was key and Spirit's guidance was extremely specific for David. After saying "yes" completely to Jesus, the next thirty years was easy. It's easier to collaborate than to compete. To the ego it is jolting when a partner keeps disappearing and in this movie it can happen at any time. Any sense of desiring a normal (special) relationship leads to disappointment and the only way to look upon it all is from the perspective of opening up to a love that transcends time, space and bodies entirely. Time is simultaneous. The main character is moving through time and experiences different parts of his life in the dream and his Holy Relationship. His wife has to learn to forgive and not to have any expectations whatsoever for spending time with her husband. There are no exceptions to the forgiveness. Being clear on the metaphysics of A Course in Miracles is very important, and will help to make your practice more effective in applying the metaphysical principles to whatever arises.During this first half of an Unwind Your Mind workshop led by David, many deep metaphysical questions were asked and answered, such as:- I find it hard to meditate yet feel I shouldn’t push too hard. The more you give yourself over to the joy of the Spirit, the more you see that your Plan Bs avail you nothing.
