For the final session of the Awakening 2 Love Enlightenment Retreat, David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu share about possible ways to stay connected and invite the participants to share their inspirations. Some possibilities are discussed for staying connected, such as having private screenings of Frances' new documentary "Take Me Home" at people’s homes by invitation! A lot of gratitude is also expressed, with many people sharing about how miraculous this retreat has been for them. About two thirds of the way through the session, the topic of “family responsibilities” is raised and how this seems to make the spiritual journey much more difficult in terms of being able to freely follow one's heart. David addresses this question by sharing parables to help undo this belief and open the mind to the solution of present moment guidance.This session begins with two original songs performed live by Svava Love. After some “Holy Spirit interventions” though, he makes a commitment to saying yes to everything that comes his way and it ends up transforming his life in miraculous ways! In “A Course in Miracles,” Jesus is basically teaching us that this entire world is a hypothetical world made up by the ego. Just like in the movie “The Matrix,” it is a world that tricks us into believing we exist within time and space as separate bodies so that we would forget our true, eternal nature as Spirit. It is an "as if cosmos," an invented, hypothetical possibility "as if" we could have actually separated from God, which in truth is impossible. The past is impossible, the future is impossible, and only in the present can we discover what's real, which is the happiness, love, and truth within that we have never left nor which has ever left us. After a beautiful afternoon of rest and stillness at the Awakening 2 Love Enlightenment Retreat, David Hoffmeister shows a good “mind-watcher” movie to stir things up! “The Great Hack” is a Netflix documentary about the way that our online activity (on Facebook, for example) is seemingly used for political manipulation of the general public. David shows this movie to flush up the belief in victimization and the question of “Can I be manipulated?” and dissolves them both through divine metaphysics from “A Course in Miracles.” Even though it can seem like technology and modern psychology can be used against us, we have to remember the words of Jesus, the master psychologist, who reminds us that, “I am responsible for what I see…And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and receive as I have asked.” The problems we see in the world are merely projections of the one problem we harbor within, and we have to go farther back in our own mind to see it and dispel it!This audio was edited to contain only David’s commentary before, during, and after the movie. He speaks about the true meaning of “free will,” which is often associated with choice but isn’t really about choice at all.
