Colleen McGowan is the Academic Industry Coordinator for the Joint BME Department at UNC Chapel Hill and NC State University. Her role consists of advising undergraduate biomedical engineering students and assisting them with internship & job applications, organizing networking and educational opportunities as well as developing industry relationships for the benefit of students. Prior to BME, Colleen worked as a Strategy & Operations Consultant with Deloitte before and after earning her MBA from Duke University, and spent several years at home with her children. Colleen also recently completed seven years of board service with the Me Fine Foundation, serving as the non-profit's Board Chair in 2020 and 2021. Outside of her professional life, Colleen can be found coaching volleyball, playing tennis or watching her daughters play their own sports.
Colleen joins the show to share her insights gained from advising BME students on finding and getting a job.
