EP303: A coaching session about energy and overwhelm
In this episode of Changeable, I have a conversation with Emily about energy and overwhelm. Emily says she swings from periods of coasting (which feels lazy to her) and pushing, which feels harsh and exhausting. She also talks about the feeling of being constantly “on” in her work. We explore how much is truly effortless and how these habitual tugs on her energy are reminders that she’s not resting in effortless awareness of what’s arising–instead, “Emily” is very much in the picture believing a lot of rigid rules and responsibilities she made up for herself. Many people will be able to relate to this conversation.***I would like to invite you to join me for a live 2-day event this summer in Plymouth, Michigan!Over two days, July 19 and 20th, we’ll explore the absolute freedom of living in reality. We’ll settle into what is, deeply feeling the difference between that and the imaginary worlds constantly created in thought. These live events are amazing opportunities to gather together with a group of likeminded people, see a lot in a short period of time, and form connections and have fun together. EP302: I want to be a different person
My client recently said this. She wants to be a different person. You’ve had that thought many times, right? Being a person is hard. It’s inevitable that “different persons”, all imagined, of course, look better than the person you are.But what if you aren’t a person? Maybe the desire for different isn’t about being a different person so much as seeing that you actually aren’t one? ***I would like to invite you to join me for a live 2-day event this summer in Plymouth, Michigan!Over two days, July 19 and 20th, we’ll explore the absolute freedom of living in reality. EP301: Listener questions about suicide and self-harm
In this episode I speak to some questions from a listener about how to best support her daughter through suicidal and self- harm thoughts and actions. The listener notices when her daughter’s mood seem to fluctuate in a way her daughter does not. I speak to how we can point to the always in flux nature of form, and also the formless health that is always present because it is who we are.I talk about helping someone surrender into the energy they are feeling. Wanting to escape THIS through self-harm or death makes absolute perfect sense when THIS feels unfeelable, which only happens when there is a story and resistance present. There is a lot in this episode that speaks to our humility in what arises, as well as our humility in supporting others. I hope it’s helpful to you. ***I would like to invite you to join me for a live 2-day event this summer in Plymouth, Michigan!Over two days, July 19 and 20th, we’ll explore the absolute freedom of living in reality. EP299: Guided Meditation: Exploring What Is
I get a lot of questions about what it looks like to feel what’s arising. How do we welcome what’s here? How can we fully immerse in what is? These are great questions that aren’t easily addressed by more talking about it; so in this episode, I walk you through an experiential exploration. This was very intuitive and on-the-fly. I want to make it clear that there is no right way to do this. There is no script. There’s just an intuitive exploration that may (or may not!) feel something like what you’ll hear in this episode. I hope this gives you a sense of how you can do your own exploring. The post EP299: Guided Meditation: Exploring What Is appeared first on Dr. Amy Johnson.

EP297: When you have it and you lose it
It can be heartbreaking to feel as if you “have it” – clear seeing, a buzzing energy, emotional freedom, a loss of identity –and then to feel as if you “lose it”. And, this is what you signed up for. It must be this way. This is awakening, not the always happy picture your mind created. In this episode I’ll explore why and when this feels so heartbreaking, but how it’s actually the best news there is. EP295: The Fundamental Exploration of Identity
In this episode I have an amazing conversation with Dr. Kathleen Perry about the most important exploration: Who am I? Kathleen shares how being curious about identity is fundamental to everything we’re up to and everything we’re up against. Nothing shifts the way life looks and feels the way an exploration of identity can.Kathleen discusses her own identity shifts, particularly when her husband died a few years ago. Her experience sheds so much light on how identity operates in mysterious, sometimes subtle ways.We also talk about how identities seem to crack and break open (like it or not) around certain life events and at a certain age. At the end, Kathleen talks about her passion for supporting women as they explore identity in the context of what they are wanting to create or change in life. She’s offering a totally free masterclass on this topic on April 16th. You can register here.I highly recommend you check it out!
