Dr Matt Hislop, Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician discusses the diagnosis of Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome (PAES). Unfortunately, there can be a delay in diagnosis of PAES and for the suffering athlete, it can be very frustrating and limiting in terms of their running ability. Dr Matt has a special interest in exertion of leg pain, having published research on chronic exertional compartment syndrome and being one of the few practitioners in southeast Queensland who performs compartment pressure studies. Dr Hislop is involved in research in the management of Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome and has co-authored several chapters in Brukner & Khan's Clinical Sports Medicine on this topic.
