Three days of whining on the courthouse steps, a limited gag order and earning the ire of the judge was enough to send Trump running from a New York courthouse. The trial is only beginning and he’s checking out already! It’s okay though. The judge can take large portions of Trump’s money whether he’s there to see it happen or not. Deals are being made in Georgia’s election interference case. Some defendants accused of messing with election machines are getting deals in exchange for testimony against higher profile defendants. We’ll talk to former federal prosecutor David Katz about all of it.

We’ve never seen anything like this! An historic vote in the House of Representatives has members tossing out the Speaker for the first time in American history. Now former Speaker Kevin McCarthy says he will not try to retake his leadership role in the House. The person that does go for the job appears to be facing an uphill battle. Yesterday, Trump crossed another boundary when he badmouthed members of the courthouse staff on his social media site. The judge in Trump’s New York fraud case was outraged and, fearing for the safety of his staff, put some limits on what Trump can say. Will it keep his nasty remarks at bay? Mark is back and there’s a lot to talk about! Trump was in a New York courtroom for the first day of his fraud trial. The minute he arrived outside the courthouse, he started disparaging New York Attorney General Letitia James, saying she’s a terrible person and he called the judge, Arthur F. Engoron “rogue” accusing them both of being criminals. In this case, it’s the judge who will decide the outcome. The trial, it seems, will give Trump the chance to give daily campaign speeches from the courthouse steps. Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz started the process to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy by filing a resolution that may lead to a no-confidence vote. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and scholar David Cay Johnston will stop in to discuss that and more. California Governor Gavin Newsom is moving fast to appoint a replacement for the late Senator Diane Feinstein. Today he is expected to announce the appointment of Laphonza Butler. She is the president of EMILY’s List, an organization focused on electing Democratic women who support abortion rights. While the Governor said he’d appoint a caretaker who would not run for the seat, Butler’s appointment is said to come with no such strings attached. Last night, US Attorney General Merrick Garland appeared on CBS’ 60 minutes. When asked about the reasons he chose the law and why Democracy is important to him, Garland got choked up. Some will see it as passion and others as weakness. How do you see it? Journalist, columnist and commentator Jim Avila will start off the show to discuss it all. Democratic Senator, Diane Feinsein, the longest serving female senator in history, has died. After an historic career in SF she moved on to the US Senate. We'll remember her and speak to the fact that Gavin Newsom will have the power to appoint someone to serve out the rest of her term. We have Jim Avila and Michael Shure coming through to talk politics, gov't shutdown and the GOP "fake impeachment" of Joe Biden as well as reflections on Diane Feinstein and the future of that Senate seat. Major financial blow to the Trump Organization! A New York judge says Donald Trump and his two adult sons provided false financial statements for almost ten years! For persistent fraud, the judge canceled the Trump Organization’s business certification. A receiver will be appointed to “manage the dissolution” of the corporate entities. In addition to the Trump Organization, two New York properties are part of the lawsuit, including a commercial tower on Wall Street and the Trump family compound at Seven Springs.
