Special Counsel Jack Smith filed against Trump on the same four counts of trying to overturn the 2020 election, but this time, given the immunity ruling from the Supreme Court, he did so without citing evidence that could potentially be covered by immunity. Is Trump backing out of the presidential debate? A post on his social media platform indicated some second thoughts about meeting Vice President Kamala Harris on ABC next month. He went on the attack against ABC and asked “Why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?”  He went on to disparage ABC hosts and stir up conspiracy theories. The final day of the Democratic National Convention featured back to back heavy hitters from Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren to Gabby Giffords and Senator Mark Kelly, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and an emotional performance by P!nk, who brought her daughter on stage to sing “What about us.” The grand finale and history making moment came when Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepted the nomination to be the democratic candidate for president. She didn’t talk about the groundbreaking nature of it. She did mention that her mother used to say “never let anyone tell you who you are, you show them who you are “and show us she did. We will talk about the final day of the Democratic national convention and what comes next for both candidates in this presidential race. Journalist and political analyst Michael sure will help us break it down. From Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to former President Bill Clinton to Oprah to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accepting the Vice Presidential nomination, day three at the DNC was filled with energy and passion. Both Bill Clinton and Pete Buttigieg did not back down from speaking candidly about how America would look if Trump returned to the White House. There was a large focus on the events of January 6th. Video of the attack on the Capitol was shown to remind people, with the words “if reelected, he will never be held accountable.” Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi was introduced as the Mother of Dragons, Former President Bill Clinton said Kamala Harris would be the President of Joy and Speaker Hakeem Jeffries said Donald Trump is like an old boyfriend you broke up with who just won’t go away. He said Trump is still trying to get back into a relationship with America and “bro we broke up with you for a reason!” We’ll take a look at GOP efforts to put election officials in place with the intent of having them not certify election results. Former Federal Prosecutor and now defense attorney David Katz will help us make sense of the legalities involved.

The second day of the Democratic National Convention was a complete party. The celebration carried on through the ceremonial roll-call (where Governor Gavin Newsom cast California’s delegate votes) onto the screen where Vice President Harris and Minnesota Governor Walz, standing before a massive crowd at a Wisconsin rally, were beamed into the DNC via satellite. Both Barack and Michelle Obama were inspirational and masterful with their words. The dynamic speakers kept coming with Senators Bernie Sanders and Tammy Duckworth and First Gentleman Doug Emhoff. Messages of hard work, getting things done and reproductive freedom were highlighted. During roll-call, Kate Cox - the mom who had to leave the state of Texas in order to get an abortion that was threatening her life - announced that she is once again pregnant, thanks to reproductive care she received elsewhere. Her public journey through new Trump era abortion laws elevated the issue along with Michelle Obama and Senator Duckworth talking about using IVF to have children. Mo Kelly, Political Analyst and KFI Radio host will come by to talk politics. We’ll check in on the environment with, “ It’s the Planet, Stupid!”

The message on the first day the Democratic National Convention was one of moving forward and unity. Warriors Coach Steve Kerr spoke about not staying silent. AOC gave a passion filled speech making it clear the Democratic Party is one for all the people trying to make it in the world. Representative Jasmine Crockett and Senator Raphael Warnock delivered words of hope. Hilary Clinton brought down the house when she said when a barrier falls for one of us, it falls for all of us. She talked about the women that came before her from Shirley Chisholm to Geraldine Ferraro and told the world, “the time is now. Amid a backdrop of grocery store items, Donald Trump gave a press conference at his Bedminster, New Jersey property yesterday. He stayed on script for a little while regarding the economy, but the conversation devolved into personal attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump started remembering previous elections. At times, he seemed like an old man reliving his glory days. On the heels of former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley sending a message to Donald Trump via Fox News to stop silly attacks that voters don’t care about and focus on the issues, Trump almost succeeded. At a campaign stop in North Carolina yesterday, it seemed he was trying to focus on the economy. He couldn’t quite stop himself from going off on weird rants laced with anger, sexist insults and outright lies, but between all of that, he seemed to have hit on a strategy that could resonate with people who were losing faith in Trump’s campaign. Trump keeps trying to get rid of the judge in his hush money case, to no avail. For the third time, Judge Juan Merchan says he will not recuse himself.  Trump is set to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10th.
