Every six months, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gather to share messages in general conference. This podcast consists of an in-depth look at each of these messages. In particular, the hosts identify the invitations that were extended by the speakers, and then discuss ways that listeners can become "doers of the word" and take action on these invitations.
The hosts for this podcast are Mitch Peterson and Clay Soelberg, both of whom are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

10/15/2026 S7E15, Episode #248. Stories from Elder Clement M. Matswagothata, General Authority 70 of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mitch and Clay were joined by Dr. Curtis Godfrey, Clay's friend and dentist (look up Excellence in Dentistry if you're near Idaho Falls; he does great work!) to share stories from Elder Clement M. Matswagothata. Elder Matswagothata deeply impressed Curtis and Clay when he visited their stake conference shortly before the April 2026 general conference and as a member of the stake presidency at the time, Curtis enjoyed an even more personal experience with Botswana's 1st general authority. We share unforgettable stories from his visit, subsequent BYU Idaho devotional, and conference address. This good man is fun, entertaining, inspiring, and to us, exemplifies what it means to be a disciple of the Lord, Jesus Christ, in how he makes each person feel seen, as though you are the only person in the room. Bonus: We pulled one of our favorite stories out of this episode in order to first seek Elder Matswagothata's blessing before sharing it as it was given in a smaller leadership session of stake conference rather than the general session. Behind the Scenes of "Preach My Gospel" — Pres. Christofferson's "The Character of Christ"

Todd Christofferson, 2nd Counselor in the 1st Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, April 2026 General Conference talk, "The Character of Christ." Mitch and Clay were joined by Lane Steinagel, a polyglot linguist who worked for decades in the Missionary Training Center (MTC) and the missionary department where he helped create the first edition of the church's missionary manual, Preach My Gospel. In addition to conducting field research at numerous "test missions," he wrote the first draft of chapter 7, "Learn Your Mission Language."
