Welcome to ATARC’s Cloud and Coffee Series! This week’s guest is Deputy Chief of the FCC’s Public Safety & Homeland Security Bureau, Debra Jordan! Debra is responsible for matters related to emergency preparedness, disaster response, and national security.  She brings more than 30 years of information technology and communications experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), where she managed a variety of critical information and communications systems.

Brian shares his career's journey as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army, his experience with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and how he arrived at his current 18F role today!

This week on the DevSecOps Coffee Chat, we heard from CIO (Acting) at the Department of Commerce, Nagesh Rao. Nagesh shares the journey of his career up to the point, his experience with Customer Experience, the steps he took to ensure his path, and where he is today!

On this week's DevSecOps Coffee Chat, we sat down with Lead DevSecOps Engineer for the Naval Sea Systems Command, Ian Anderson. Ian shared with us some of the projects he has been working on and how covid has shaped our way of doing DevSecOps -  Making processes more rigorous and increasing productivity!

In this episode, Harrison Smith, Director of Enterprise Digitalization at the IRS, shares his journey and experiences with us from working with the Navy, followed by DHS, and then transitioning into his current role at the IRS. Harrison believes that the key to his success has been his ability to recognize when he doesn't have the answers, asking the right questions and remaining transparent, while also understanding how to learn from others. Another piece of advice he shares is the importance of knowing who the expert is, and, he states, "it is almost always not you". Getting done what needs to be done, by using the expertise of others, is key to completing the mission. And when it comes to the mission, you need to do whatever it takes!
