This podcast explores topics such as intraoperative hypothermia, temperature regulation, and heat transfer in the operating room. It also covers the causes, effects, and treatment of hypothermia, along with non-malignant hyperthermia syndromes. The importance of pre-warming, intraoperative warming, and the placement of warmers in preventing hypothermia is highlighted. Additionally, the podcast discusses interesting facts about temperature regulation, including lack of correlation between fever severity and likelihood of infection, and the origin of the normal body temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.
