The result was an immediate transition to a healthier and more active lifestyle for myself. After graduating college, I experienced a massively debilitating back injury - a 10mm herniation at my L4/L5 disc and bulged disc. I spent those 2 years exploring my movements, figuring out what felt good and what hurts, and slowly reintroducing weighted movements. As someone with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I have found that improving my body awareness and strengthening my weaknesses is the most profound thing that I can do for myself. KATIE GOSS: My interest in health and wellness began 20 years ago when I decided to take on a career in nursing because I was passionate about helping others. As a cardiac critical care nurse, I enjoyed the constant learning and critical thinking it required. Knowing the power of prevention and self-care, I left the medical field, trained in Pilates and continued my own health journey experimenting with different approaches.
