Jesus’s trial was illegal according to Roman and Jewish law. In this episode, Brody looks at 8 illegalities of the trial of Jesus. Understanding the trial of Jesus helps us understand how sinful and manipulative this world is.Jesus is the one who will judge both the living and the dead. It is he who sits on the Throne of Judgment. Pilate will stand before Jesus. Ciaphus will stand before Jesus. Continuing the conversation on the Law, Brody sits down with Rob Conti and Spencer Davis. Rob and Spencer are two of the pastors from Red Oak Church who also serve and teach at Snowbird. In this episode they discuss further the Believers relationship to the Law from the Old Testament and the book of Hebrews. We should be striving to have more intimacy with Christ. We’re called to live differently, not legalistically, but different in character. As New Testament believers, how do we apply the Law to our lives? Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not abolish it. The Law exposes our sinful desires and tendencies. The Law was given at the beginning of the nation of Israel; which laws are we supposed to follow today? In this episode, Brody walks through how we live between the tension of the law, legalism, and our freedom as believers.Jesus cares about your heart. Scripture has called us to be obedient to Jesus. Don’t live legalistically. Christianity is not about following a dress code in church. You may have a skewed view of how God the Father disciplines his children. We tend to think that the Lord punishes us and shames us for our mistakes. God disciplines us because he loves us. The testing of your faith will produce steadfastness. In this episode, Brody shares some thoughts from Genesis 22 and describes how Abraham responded to the Lord in obedience.
