The State of Appalachia with Smokey the Appalachistani, Simon Winch, and Amos Denton

On this episode we got a little more philosophical than normal and had a real discussion about a "Peaceful Divorce" for the Appalachian region, the things that make us great, and ways to improve upon our quality of life. We were joined by Smokey the Appalachiatani, former Law Enforcement Officer turned homesteader, and spoke about his journey from New Jersey to a small farm in Floyd, VA, as well as his "State of Appalachia" concept that would make SouthWest Virginia it's own state, free from Richmond and a hoard of voters that do not represent the same ideals as SWVA. We also touched on history, the importance of homesteading/community, some national issues, local issues, public education, and more, We once again appreciate your support. The WoodShop Chronicles: APPALACHIAN PODCAST ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL with Paul Hall, Amos Denton, John Clements, Joel Long, James Wright, and Ryan Woods

Our one year show is here and it turned out as good as we had hoped. We started off hot with Paul Hall, fresh off his recent start at Bowman Gray Stadium for Hillbilly Racing. There was quite a bit of controversy there, so we enjoyed talking about that and his hopes to continue to run there, and for the SMART Mod remaining schedule. We also talked about the best stories of our first year, some things we enjoyed, great shows, good memories, and future plans. We also have a story that was recently told at a funeral that'll have you falling in the floor, as well as talking about things blowing up, how to be successful in a small town, local business, plus much more.https://www.patreon.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.appalachianpodcast.orghttps://www.facebook.com/AppalachianPodcasthttps://twitter.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.facebook.com/harwellgricehttps://www.facebook.com/Blackwaterbuildinghttps://www.facebook.com/lawnworxoutdoorhttps://www.facebook.com/coreyhunleymusichttps://www.facebook.com/longtransportllcSupport the show

Franklin County Speedway pt 2 with Langley Austin

In part 2 of this show with Langley Austin, the man behind the madness at Franklin County Speedway, we pick up where we left off with stories of the craziness. We definitely dove into stories of former famed promoter Donald "Whitey" Taylor, and of course those tales don't disappoint. We also discussed local racing and its impact, how the last two years were maneuvered, hopes for the future, other short tracks, and much more. Ended up being a great racing discussion. Lakehouse Roast Session: Life Before Social Media with John Clements, Thomas Meeks, Donovan Dudley, Scott Minnix, and Dean Motley

No real good way to describe this abomination,  so just sit back and get a laugh. We are seven friends that go way, way back, and we figured it would be fun to put us all together in a room and see what happened. What we got was a shit show of epic proportions, with old stories of arrests, mischief, stupidity, and a lot of unnecessary "momma" jokes. We're also releasing the last 30vmins on the show on our patreon page that we just launched (link below). It's for subscribers, will be inexpensive, and a good way to support what we do so we can do more of it.  We'll also release some shows early over there, and throw in some bonus content. If you like what we do, please give us a review and share where you can.https://www.appalachianpodcast.orghttps://www.facebook.com/AppalachianPodcasthttps://twitter.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.patreon.com/GetOnTapSupport the show

SMART MODIFIEDS from Turn 2 at FCS featuring Steve Post of MRN Radio, Matthew Dillner of Dirty Mo Media, and Bill Stanley of SS Racing with guest Co-host Julian Austin

Simply put, this episode was awesome. We set up in turn 2 for the SMART Modified race at Franklin County Speedway and had some of the biggest names in racing join us for fantastic discussions. We also snuck in some great local music between segments, including the OFFICIAL RELEASE at the end of segment 1 of "One Shot" by The Jared Stout Band (Link below) along with "Country Boys Like Me" by Crawford and Power, and finally "Up on the Mountain" by Corey Hunley, so it made for one of our best shows to date. First we welcomed back Steve Post of MRN Radio/Steve Post Communications with Bill Stanley, co-owner of SS Racing,  for a talk about the importance of short track racing, along with a string of other interesting topics. We also welcomed Matthew Dillner of Dirty Mo Media/Dale Jr Download/Lost Speedways to talk about his experience at the track, along with a fun random conversation you'd only get at FCS. We were also joined by Julian Austin, who finally made his first appearance on the show to add some great perspectives.
