Have you noticed that Active investing tends to underperform?  This is one of those non-secret secrets. What is not typically known is why this is the case. Most people claim it is due to fees, but this is not true. Fees only contribute to part of the tracking error. This week's Wall Street Secret dives into why this happens and what you can do to prevent it in your portfolio. The Debt Ceiling Is Over… Or Is It?

Congratulations to all of you who survived the debt ceiling debate. Wow. That was a close one... Not really. The markets almost flinched for a half a day... Meanwhile in fantasyland the politicians were telling us how the US would default, we would mint a 1 trillion dollar coin and they would resurrect Abe Lincoln. Well maybe no the last part, but I'm sure they were thinking it. This week we discuss what they put into this historic bill (maybe historic is an exaggeration). But we will talk about it. Also on a more exciting topic. The real estate crisis and recession that are both on pause until further notice.  We have an exciting show planned for you.. And that part is not sarcastic.  Today's Panelists: Kirk Chisholm | Innovative Wealth Douglas Heagren | ProCollege Planners Follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moneytreepodcast Follow LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/money-tree-investing-podcast Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MTIPodcast

The scary debt ceiling default talking points are behind us... or are they? As you know, we have predicted this was a farce long before the solution was (sort of) agreed to. Supply and Demand For House Prices Is A Myth

Once again we at Money Tree Investing Podcast are pulling back the curtain on the wizard and spilling the beans on Wall Street Secrets. This week we dispel the notion that supply and demand for house prices is  why house prices are still high even though people cannot afford them. It's simply not true. Think about it for a moment. There are 100 widgets in supply. There are 100 people who want a widget. There should be a price that could be agreed upon to purchase those widgets. However what if I only have $100 and the widget costs $1,000. I guess I'm not buying that widget. I still want the widget, but I cannot buy it unless the prices is $100 or lower. That is effectively what is going on in the housing market.  Sorry Wall Street. Try your tricks on someone else. Join us this week as we discuss the dynamics of housing, why its still expensive, even though people cannot afford to buy a home, what's up with the unemployment rate, and the big question... where is the recession?
