Evelia is a compassionate, direct, and bilingual therapist who provides a nonjudgmental space to discover internal needs. Her practice is influenced by psychodynamic and strength-based perspectives. Taking a Deeper Dive into Telehealth Research with Kelly Schieltz & Matt O’Brien

Matthew O’Brien, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. He completed his doctorate in Psychological and Quantitative Foundations from the University of Iowa under the guidance of Dr. David Wacker and completed postdoctoral fellowships in neuropsychology and behavioral psychology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. O’Brien serves as the Director of Biobehavioral Services and Director of Research and Psychology for the Iowa LEND program. He is a Co-Principal Investigator on a multisite R01 research grant funded by NIH evaluating behavioral assessment through telehealth and conducts research related to functional analysis of severe and challenging behavior in individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Kelly M. Schieltz, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa. She is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. For over 15 years, she has worked in a variety of outpatient clinics for problem behavior, and on a variety of federally-funded and state-funded research and service grants that focused on training parents and school professionals on behavior analytic procedures in-vivo and via telehealth. Additionally, she has trained primary care physicians to diagnose autism via ECHO Autism. Currently, she directs a brief outpatient clinic for problem behavior and serves as an investigator on two federally-funded research grants: one focused on training parents in their homes via telehealth and one that evaluates behavioral persistence and treatment relapse when treatment is challenged. ABA of Language Cognition with Jonathan Tarbox and RuthAnne Rehfeldt

Dr. Jonathan Tarbox is the Program Director of the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program at the University of Southern California, as well as Director of Research at FirstSteps for Kids. Dr. Tarbox is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Behavior Analysis in Practice and serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals related to autism and behavior analysis. He has published four books on autism treatment, is the Series Editor of the Elsevier book series Critical Specialties in Treating Autism and Other Behavioral Challenges, and an author of well over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters in scientific texts.  His research focuses on behavioral interventions for teaching complex skills to individuals with autism, applications of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) inside of applied behavior analysis, and applications of applied behavior analysis to issues of diversity and social justice.  Dr. Rehfeldt holds a BA in psychology from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA (1993), and  masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nevada (1998). Dr. Rehfeldt is now serving as assistant chair and professor in the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology Chicago campus. She is ecstatic to be living and working again in Chicago. Autism and Co-occurring Disorders with Susan W. White & Carla Mazefsky

Dr. Carla Mazefsky is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she is Co-Director of the Center for Autism Research (CeFAR) and the Director of the Regulation of Emotion in ASD Adults, Children, & Teens (REAACT) Research Program. She is a past recipient of the INSAR Ritvo-Slifka Award for Innovation in Autism Research. Her current studies take a lifespan approach, with an emphasis on adolescence and the transition to adulthood.  Her research focuses primarily on emotion regulation and associated mental health and behavioral concerns in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including the mechanisms underlying emotion dysregulation in ASD and the development of new assessment and treatment approaches. She is co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Autism and Co-Occurring Psychiatric Conditions, author of the Emotion Dysregulation Inventory, and co-author of the Emotion Awareness and Skills Enhancement (EASE) Program.    Susan W. White is Professor and Doddridge Saxon Chair in Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama. Her clinical and research interests include development and evaluation of psychosocial treatments that target transdiagnostic processes underlying psychopathology. She is associate editor for the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, and she the Editor in Chief of the ABCT Series on Implementation of Clinical Approaches. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. She received her PhD from Florida State University.
