We have never witnessed an attempt to build a global empire by trade and economic war alone, ever before. Trump is trying it. How should the world respond?

AI is a tool we can’t ignore. But it is also going to be deeply disruptive and help burn the planet, and so it should be taxed, heavily. Why is Rachel Reeves saying nothing about that?

Once upon a time, tax havens hid billions from the view of the world’s tax authorities. Then they caused massive disruption. But now, their opacity has been shattered as far as tax authorities are concerned. They are no longer a pot of gold for a government to find.

Trump fell out with almost all his senior staff in his first administration. He will this time, as well. So, what happens when he and Musk fall out?

Time and again, we hear people saying that government debt must be repaid. They are fundamentally wrong. Repaying that debt would create economic nightmares.

Neoliberalism has failed, but the Labour government is wedded to it. No wonder they’re so frightened. They realise that we might rumble that they, too, are a bunch of failures.

I want to see the end of neoliberalism and everything it stands for because until we do, we won't live in a world where people matter.

Tariffs will not liberate the USA. Most people will be a lot worse off. Their taxes will have risen. So too will inflation. Yesterday was madness day.  

Advertising makes you unhappy with what you have, who you are and even who you are. That’s how it works. So, do we need to better regulate it?
