The goal is not to eliminate them completely because we are human but to understand how to mitigate the risk by lowering the frequency. Today I wanted to share with you the challenges I face sometimes in my day trading especially during moments of no setups. I have been doing well for the month of September 2020 of not placing boredom trades however I slipped today into trading a stock that was not part of my day trading playbook. This will happen, in fact, it happens to the best of us like Tim Grittani, Nate Michaud, Steven Dux, and many more. The difference is, they recognize it, and get right back on the horse and continue to move forward. Today I will recognize my mistake, forgive myself, and press forward with the mindset of improving from today. The stock market doesn’t care if I have had no setups or not, it will be happy to take my money the moment my discipline slips so I must continue to focus on process over profits and stay disciplined. Today is the discussion Nate and I had after the show closed, we started to discuss some of the issues I was having and he was giving me some ideas to think about for my own day trading. I am at a part in my day trading career where I know what works, I am consistently profitable, and now I am working on growing my trading account through adding more size to my trades. Sector momentum is upon us and it is about time. We have been in a slow market. The market changes like the weather, we go through cycles, summer, spring, winter, well you get the point. Instead of change in temperature though, the stock market changes in volatility and today I wanted to share with you how I approach the market during slow volatile times...in other words, when it's boring. Many new beginning day traders who are interested in the markets but haven’t had time to see the different cycles will go through periods of frustration due to having a “setup” work for some time and then out of nowhere it doesn’t. What tends to happen for beginner traders is they then get frustrated and trade everything and bleed out their entire day trading account.
