Live Your Best Life
Teach. Motivate. Inspire. These are the themes that run through my conversations with people who are living their best lives. Guests on “Live Your Best Life with Liz Brunner” are best-selling authors, international executives, public personalities, thought-leaders, health and fitness experts, award-winning chefs and role models who are recreating their lives in interesting, unique ways. They have taken all of their life experiences, the good and the bad, the successes and even the failures, and used that knowledge to not only create their "next chapters," but to inspire others as well. My grandmother was fond of saying, "no knowledge is ever wasted." It's so true. I have personally used all of my “knowledge” to "recreate" myself several times from High School music teacher, to working in retail, to a 28-year award-winning TV career, and now to entrepreneur. I call it "recreation" because to me it's about "connecting the dots" of all of our life experiences and skills, and using them to create our next chapter and to live our best, most authentic life. My guests are recreating their lives in interesting, unique ways. As an executive communications coach and motivational speaker, I not only work with Fortune 500 and C-suite executives on their communication/presentation skills, but I also help them learn the tools they need to become their best authentic selves and live their best lives. An award-winning journalist and best-selling author who went back to college in her 60s to become a psychotherapist, Ann Dowsett Johnston is writing her next chapter with authenticity and raw honesty. But that’s only a piece of her story. She also outed herself to the world as a recovering alcoholic after years of feeling like a failure despite outward success.
“…It wasn’t until I wrote my book, ‘Drink’where I felt like the most ‘Ann’ I’ve ever felt…the truth of the matter is, I wanted my book to be a secret friend to anyone, any woman, who wasn’t willing to say she had a drinking problem…”

Andrea Owen
Andrea Owen says that after hitting rock bottom, she believed that life was tapping her on the shoulder and asking something more of her. And she went in search of that “more”. Today, she’s a certified life coach, best-selling author, podcast host and speaker.
“…At the end of the day, the thing that I walked away with was that I had for decades been hoping that I could find my happiness and my confidence and all the love in the world, from other people. And I had to learn the hard way, in those moments, in that circumstance, my own rock bottom, was that it was up to me. And I had to take radical responsibility. ”

Shira Miller
Shira Miller says her superpower is helping people get unstuck. She has transitioned from financial ruin to prosperity, from obesity to being well, finding love and living a purpose-driven Life.
“…It’s so easy to get trapped when you feel like maybe you’ve got imposter syndrome, or you see other people succeeding in a certain way, and you pretend to adopt a persona…Social media has only intensified it. When you’re looking at everybody else and thinking, ‘You know, I’ve got to have that dress that Kim Kardashian is wearing, or my life doesn’t matter…’ People are adopting behaviors that aren’t themselves. And that can really get you stuck.”

Chris Waddell
Perhaps the most widely known as the most decorated monoskier in US history, Chris Waddell went on to become the fastest in the world. If that’s not enough, as a paraplegic, he handcycled in a wheelchair all the way up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
“As an adult, we don’t give ourselves the recognition of the things that we’ve learned…like learning to walk, how miraculous is that to go from, this lump of baby, to actually being able to walk and we’ve all done it…or speaking, you know, learning to talk is the same kind of thing. And I get to see that in skiing, yes, where I got to go from effectively the lump of baby to like, ‘Oh, wow, l can balance and then I can sort of turn and I can turn better.’ And it was the hardest, and coolest, thing that I’ve been through.”

Deven Wohlwend
Just because you’ve never done something doesn’t mean you can’t, you just have to try. My guest is living by this very same philosophy as an investor in everything from real estate to gold, silver cryptocurrency to even Legos. He has his own company, and is now a published author of two books. But here’s the kicker: He’s only 15 years old and not afraid to learn and grow, and teach people what he already knows.
“Too many people today live in fear. Living in fear only causes you to have negative thoughts, which just drag you down. I want to help build people up.”
You can learn more about Deven and his story at https://www.clearskytrainer.com. His books, “If I Can Do It So Can You” and “The Garage” are available on Amazon and Bookshop.org

Amy Wong
Amy Wong says, “Life is a lot like math. It’s a simple idea. But it gets complicated.” It gets complicated, she says, because we live in fear and false perceptions about ourselves. As a former mathematician, and now a transformational coach, Amy Wong has made it her mission to help people thrive by understanding that “choice” is our superpower to living a life on purpose.
“…The quality of our experience of our life, is the sum total of all the choices that we’re making.”
Amy has faced many choices along her journey including overcoming an eating disorder and leaving her high powered job in Silicon Valley to forge a new path.
You can learn more about Amy’s work at www.alwaysonpurpose.com. Her book, “Always On Purpose” is available on Amazon and Porchlight and at Barnes & Noble.
