Live Your Best Life
Teach. Motivate. Inspire. These are the themes that run through my conversations with people who are living their best lives. Guests on “Live Your Best Life with Liz Brunner” are best-selling authors, international executives, public personalities, thought-leaders, health and fitness experts, award-winning chefs and role models who are recreating their lives in interesting, unique ways. They have taken all of their life experiences, the good and the bad, the successes and even the failures, and used that knowledge to not only create their "next chapters," but to inspire others as well. My grandmother was fond of saying, "no knowledge is ever wasted." It's so true. I have personally used all of my “knowledge” to "recreate" myself several times from High School music teacher, to working in retail, to a 28-year award-winning TV career, and now to entrepreneur. I call it "recreation" because to me it's about "connecting the dots" of all of our life experiences and skills, and using them to create our next chapter and to live our best, most authentic life. My guests are recreating their lives in interesting, unique ways. As an executive communications coach and motivational speaker, I not only work with Fortune 500 and C-suite executives on their communication/presentation skills, but I also help them learn the tools they need to become their best authentic selves and live their best lives. Join us for inspiration! Learn more at www.lizbrunner.com.

Jeffrey Shaw
Jeffrey Shaw has never ever had a “real job” nor a traditional paycheck. From selling eggs door-to-door at the age of 14 to becoming a renowned portrait photographer, today he is considered the “go to” expert for the self-employed, helping small business owners get the results they want.
“I think we have to pay attention to what’s the energy of these titles that we give ourselves and what are in the real world the benefits and downsides…That’s why the end of the day I’ve settled on ‘self-employed’ and I want people to call themselves ‘self-employed’ with a badge of honor because it represents your braveness, your boldness, it represents your business structure, even your tax structure, and it tells people how you live it is the self-employed life… ”

Vanessa Yakobson
“Never allow life’s challenges to stop you from reaching for the stars.” That is the mantra Vanessa Yakobson lives by. After battling and beating childhood cancer, Vanessa believes it gave her a new sense of drive and determination to chase all of her dreams. One of those dreams: Running her own business someday.
“I just had this deep sense of knowing that this was an experience that I was meant to go through. And that I would learn from it and come out the other side. Somehow at the age of 13. It came to me that it’s not what you’re faced with in life, but how you deal with it that matters.”

Luke Iorio
As a former CEO, now turned entrepreneur, Luke Iorio knew he was burned out. He went in search of what matters, and in the process, found himself.
“I just recognized that I had strayed far from what I considered to be the center of who I really was, and that I was going to do whatever I needed to to take that road back again…”
Luke left his role as CEO, and gave himself the space and clarity, he says, he needed to recreate his next chapter. His private coaching practice focuses on guiding men to live their best life.

She is an accomplished leader in driving sales for a variety of media ventures over her entire career. But in 2021, she recreated herself with her next chapter, and started her own business. Her passion for female founders was the impetus behind the launch of RazHer collaborative.

Jean Oelwang
Some of the most successful people in the world have a superpower. It’s not their expertise, nor their experience. In fact, it’s something that we can all create to live a meaningful life: deep connections and partnerships. For 15 years, Jean Oelwang had a ringside seat into how partnerships create success. She interviewed dozens of world leaders and influential people, Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Richard Branson, to name a few.
“I feel like when we grow up from the time we’re born, we’re kind of pushed to feel like we have to get the gold star, we have to be the number one. So we’re pushed into this sense of hyper- individualism. And I really feel that that’s at the root cause of many of the issues that we have in the world right now. And it’s not our natural state, as human beings, we need to be hyper connected…”
Meet Jean, hear her incredible stories and learn from her experiences with her book Partnering: Forge the Deep Connections That Make Great Things Happen.

Scott Harrison, founder and CEO of Charity: Water, is here to tell you that redemption is possible and together, we’re following his journey of second chances which now involves saving millions of people’s lives all around the world.
“…I wound up selling everything I owned, and deciding to kind of give one year of the 10 years I’d wasted in service to others…I was very fortunate that one organization said if I was willing to pay them $500 a month, and if I was willing to go live in the poorest country in the world, which at that time was post-war, Liberia, West Africa, then they would take me and I said, ‘Great, here’s my credit card number…’”
Join me, and Charity: Water, in our season of giving goal to build a well. I have committed to matching every donation (up to $2,500) in order to bring the gift of clean water to Charity: Water’s next project. You can share your gift at charitywater.org/bestlife.
Learn more about Scott and Charity: Water through Scott’s book Thirst: A Story of Redemption, Compassion and a Mission to Bring Clean Water to the World and at charitywater.org.

Mitzi Perdue
Mitzi Perdue is living one of the most fascinating lives. Besides being a hotel heiress, Mitzi has made a name for herself as a businesswoman, an award-winning author of 27 books, and a speaker. And in case her last name brings up any word association, her late husband, Frank Perdue, founded the Perdue Chicken company and her father co-founded the Sheraton Hotel chain.
“I’m so grateful because a lot of people in my economic background-filthy, stinking rich, in other words-I think, live in something of a bubble. I treasure that…my parents did everything that they could to have their kids not live in a bubble.”
Mitzi is also an anti-human trafficking advocate who recently returned from Ukraine. To support the war effort, Mitzi is auctioning off her historic Atocha Emerald engagement ring from her late husband at Sothebys on Decemeber 7, 2022, with all the proceeds going to Ukraine.
Learn more about the auction, Mitzi’s books, “I Didn’t Bargain For This”, “Tough Man, Tender Chicken: Business and Life Lessons From Frank Perdue” and other titles, at https://mitziperdue.com
