Ep 174: Podside Chat - What Are Your Best Addictions?

Start Your Transformation NowWhen you hear that question it catches most of us off guard. I mean, we’ve all grown up hearing about all the things that are bad for us. Too much alcohol leads to alcoholism, gambling can lead to an addiction, sex can be an addiction, and even exercising can be an addiction. The twist in this episode is that yes of course addictions can be harmful but what if addictions could be good and helpful? If that was the case then what would be your best additions? What addictions would help you live a better life? What if you became addicted to those things? Let’s start here. Your brain is designed to create habits and habits can lead to addictions – both positive and negative ones. A part of the brain called the Basal Ganglia is responsible for creating and housing our brain-based unconscious habits and the point of this podcast is that given the fact that the brain creates addictions, then let’s use it to create healthy and good addictions. In this episode, I gently touch upon the brain and its creation of habits but what I want to get across in this episode is that your brain will and does create addictions so pick the most powerful ones that will serve you. Next, we often think of addictions as either chemical or behavioral but rarely do we think of addictions in terms of addictive thinking. SO…..what negative and counterproductive thinking are you addicted to? Worry, anger, doubt, fear, jealousy, envy…to name just a few. As thinking patterns can also become thought addiction patterns, do you sabotage yourself with addictive negative thinking? As I discuss in this episode, there is a way out of this negative cycle of addictive and counterproductive thinking and that way is operating from higher function of the mind which supersedes the brain. Mind and brain are not the same things. And, in this episode, I talk about how important it is for us to “Know Ourselves” as higher functioning beings of mind and spirit and not just the brain-based / habit bases “thinker.” When we operate from higher function of mind, it becomes a lot easier to manage brain-based behaviors that often keep us trapped. Transformational Takeaway: To know yourself is to consciously choose your addictions.Mentioned Resources:EPISODE 5 : Why Your Bad Habits Are So Hard To BreakEPISODE 173: “Podside Chat: How Much Authority Do You Have In Your Life?”Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 173: Podside Chat - How Much Authority Do You Have In Your Life?

Start Your Transformation NowThe title is misleading for many or rather they misinterpret it. When we think of authority the first thing we think of is that word in a social context. Meaning, we have authority as parents and preachers and doctors and lawyers, etc. This is the lowest form of authority as it’s determined by social structures, norms, values, and socio-economics.When I say authority, I mean…what authority do we have as a Being? What authority are we born with? What authority is born into us?I know most of us don’t think about it that way but that’s the way I want you to start thinking about it. When you do, it will help you discover your true and unlimited power. Most of us lose all our power even as a human Being because we give our inborn authority away to parents, school, church, teachers, and such. We let others rob us of our potential, desires, wishes, and true power, and then most of us spend years trying to get our innate authority back.As I discuss in this episode, you’re a human being “on a big rock traveling through the cosmos.”So my question is, “How much authority to you have compared to how much you think you can have?”How much and what authority do you have in life?A slippery question to ask and even harder to answer: What if you could do, be or have anything in life? The truth is that you can and because you have been socialized and conditioned to give all your power away all of these become hard for you.Candidly, you’re superhuman and if you’re like most people, you work from about 3% of your ability and potential.Let’s start to change your thoughts and perspectives about that in this episode.Transformational Takeaway: ANYTHING is possible when you hold your affirmative attention on it because you have the authority of the universe in you.Mentioned Resources:Dying To Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing by Anita MoorjaniDisclosure: Some of the links above are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you make a purchase.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 172: Podside Chat - See Things As You Want Them To Be, Not As They Are

Start Your Transformation NowIn this episode, I go in a few different places…which is not new.I’m doing another episode on attention and I know you’ve heard me say, “You are where your attention is.”The motivation for the episode is that I got the first iTunes review less than five stars in a long time. As I read the review my first thought was, “Yes, XYZ about the podcast bothers her because that’s where her attention is.”So, the motivation for this episode is that three-star review. Thank you three-star review person!Ok, so back to attention. Let’s dig into two kinds of attention,Petty annoyances and 2) Life circumstances. When it comes to petty annoyances we often let the most ridiculous things annoy us: The way someone smacks their food, the way someone brushes their teeth, the way someone says particular words and the list goes on. You get the point and what are your petty annoyances?Next up is life circumstances. I’ll keep this simple: Where you are in all areas of life is a reflection of where you have held your attention. Of course, it’s not “one-time” attention and for many, it’s a lifetime accumulation of attention.Your wealth, health, and relationship status are all a reflection of your attention and if you want to create more in life you must move your attention to that. You must keep your attention on the things that you want, not the things that you do not want because when you focus on what you do not want you just create more of that. So, want to know where you have held your attention for maybe months or years or decades? Look at the circumstances of your life. These are what your attention has created.Transformational Takeaway: See things as you want them to be, not as they are.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 171: Podside Chat - Your Life Is Your Ultimate Guru

Start Your Transformation NowSo many people will say things like “So and so is my Guru” and when they do that they are giving a lot of their power to that guru.As you already know from listening to this podcast, our lives work from the inside out and we have to recreate our lives from the inside out.All this being said, we create our lives from the inside out so what you have in your life has already been created from the inside out, and that there is metaphorically your guru. When you want leadership in life let your life be its own leadership. Let what you have and have not created. Let where you are in life be your guru and your gyroscope to where you want to go.Truth be told and as you may already know, you can have anything in life with one caveat. You must be responsible for creating it.Here’s the challenge that most people run into. They hope and wish and want and then they stop there, why? Easy…fear.Fear is the great debilitated. The big question I have for you in this episode and I preface it inside the episode is, what fears can you let go of that hold you back and down. Until you let things out of your life nothing new will come into your life and this specifically applies to letting fear go so you can have more. So, as it seems, fear is one of your greatest gurus because it can be your greatest teacher and mirror about exactly where you are in life or it can be your greatest obstacle. Use it wisely and to your advantage. In a nutshell, your life is your life. It’s yours! When you match your life against where you want it to be let that in itself be your guru for what needs to change.Transformational Takeaway: Your Life Is Your Ultimate GuruMentioned Resources:EPISODE 57: “Life is Choice”EPISODE 157: “Chelsea: The Power Of Choice To Change Your Life”Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 170: Money, Money, Money with James Wedmore

Start Your Transformation NowAs you know, I’ve only had one guest on my podcast and that person is James Wedmore. James is an industry leader in online business building and online entrepreneurship. He’s back with me in this episode and we talked about so much I had no idea what to title this episode. We talked about many aspects of money so I kept it simple and titled it – Money, money, money. As a quick recap I can tell you here are some main themes in this episode. We talked about… [5:19] How the masses allow money to become their master. [16:36] AYNI – The ancient principle of giving and receiving [18:22] Why “expansion” for others is the way to wealth [20:25] Why so many people fear asking for money [38:20]Why money is actually a game [44:57]The importance of valuing the value we create in life [1:02:01] How not to give all your power to money And, so, so much more.We talked for an hour about many aspects of money and even if you don’t own an online business listen to this episode because the tax truth is that you should own some kind of business, no matter what it is.If you’re wanting to make more money in whatever you do in life or to capitalize on an online business then give this episode a listen, you’ll love it!Mentioned Resources:Episode 33: “AYNI – The Reciprocity Of Life”Episode 115: “Spirituality, Business, and Prosperity”Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 169: Podside Chat - Nothing Has Any Meaning Except The Meaning You Give It

Start Your Transformation NowAs you read that headline, Nothing Has Any Meaning Except The Meaning I Give It, what does that mean to you?I know that’s a simple question but it’s a powerful realization when we come to understand that everything in our life has meaning, and we are the ones who have given meaning to it.Life’s ups and downs, we give meanings. Life’s blessings, we give meaning. Divorce and marriage we give meaning. Sex life, no sex life, adultery, loyal partners, we give it all meaning. Having a job, not having a job. Having money, not having money, we give it meaning. The biggest mistake that most of us make is that we make the meaning about our own worth and value and we devalue ourselves when we compare ourselves against what others have and do not have, we give that meaning…and usually it’s negative meaning.Look at all the things you worry about in life, what does it mean that you worry and what meaning are you giving to the things that you worry about? It’s pretty simple and also conversely complex but your life is a big bundle of meanings and it’s you who places the meanings on your life. Do you place positive or negative meanings? Do your meanings build you or destroy you? Do your meanings keep you healthy or destroy your health. Transformational Takeaway: You are the creator of your life because you create based upon the meanings you hold.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 168: Podside Chat - Stop Thinking And Know More

Start Your Transformation NowStop thinking and know more sounds oxymoronic, right? I totally understand because we have been taught since we were kids that we had to excel at “thinking.” You know, it was all about how smart we were, good grades, etc. What if that cultural thought actually kept and keeps you trapped?Rumi once said something like to be silent is to know everything. When he said silent, he meant that we should slow down and stop the overthinking and quiet the mind.In this episode, I talk about some of the limitations of our “thinking” brain versus our “knowing” mind.As you’ll discover, I talk about meditation and how that’s the first place to start and it’s also a huge limitationsto get stuck in that place. I know those who meditate think what I just said contradicts what they think, however, to just “mediate” is to work from only one level of mind.Ideally, we want to learn to manage our thinking and brain, and when we do that the silent mind begins to open up for us.Transformational Takeaway: When you get out of your analytical thinking your silent mind begins to open for you.Mentioned Resources:EPISODE 6: “Here’s The Only Place To Find Your Highest Potential”Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon HillBinaural Beats, Healing Meditation Music, Relaxing Music Meditation, Healing Meditation Music CalmSolfeggio 432 Hz – 1 Hour Positive ResonanceDisclosure: Some of the links above are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you make a purchase.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 167: Podside Chat - Living Spiritually Aligned And Escaping Money Slavery

Start Your Transformation NowIn this episode I have three themes: I talk about and read notes from an actual phone call that I had with my brother-in-law, the shaman, don Xavier. As well, I pull a lesson from them and share it with you, and then I extend that into a second big takeaway to help you create more freedom in your life.In January of 2001 when I lived in NYC I had a significant life-changing experience that I share with you. In the process, I got a tongue lashing from my brother-in-law and I share that with you verbatim, warts and all.The big takeaway from that call is that I had to “align” myself spiritually. I had to fall in line with my life’s calling. Candidly, I had been shirking my responsibilities and consequently was living from what I call “misalignment.” Overall, in terms of 3D life, it was no big deal but in terms of my spiritual evolution, it was costing me everything, especially my peace of mind.In this episode, I talk about the power of peace of mind and how it can set you free. Most of us live in lives of chaos and most of us live on the hamster wheel of life and it distracts us from our passions and quite candidly, wears us out.Secondly, I talk about being a slave to money. Most people are not money motivated, so to speak, but they spend their entire lives in the pursuit of money to maintain whatever standard of living they have.In this episode, I dive into that and definitely talk about freeing yourself from that soul-sucking hamster wheel.Transformational Takeaway: It’s hard to do anything in life if you don’t have peace of mind and money is a tool, not our master.Mentioned Resources:Episode 9: How The Law Of Attraction Repels The Money And Abundance You WantJoin the Nail Your Niche WaitlistLet's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 166: Living In The Past to Living In The Present

Start Your Transformation NowOk, so I decided to call this type of podcast a “Podside Chat” because I want these to be casual and comfortable so you can better absorb the content.Obviously, I can’t go super deep on episodes like this, and my objective is to get you to start thinking in new ways little by little. So for now, let’s use this format. This week, in this episode, I talk about several things and yet two main themes, Self-Love and Living In The Present. These are “slippery topics” and ones that are foundational for all of our lives and our happiness. The first topic, self-love. The foundational thought this week is this: The Only Way To Feel Love Is To Love Yourself First. We have such a lack of self-love in the world, if anything, the lack is of epidemic proportions. It’s like the invisible poison that just slowly kills people, so it’s something that needs to be addressed.Next, I talk about living in the present. We live in a world that has conditioned itself to be in the past and the future when neither exists.Transformational Takeaway: Until we can get a better handle on self-love and being present in our own lives, heartache and frustration are going to be our lots in life.Mentioned Resources:Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on it by Kamal RavikantEpisode 6: Here’s The Only Place To Find Your Highest PotentialDisclosure: Some of the links above are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you make a purchase.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 165: More Random Thoughts To Transform Your Life

Start Your Transformation NowAs I was thinking about this week’s episode and what I wanted to share I had an epiphany: I have tons of things to share with you sitting right on my desk. For decades I have taken notes when talking to my brother-in-law, the shaman. Over the years I’ve gone through the notes and taken an inventory of myself and my own growth and often I add to the notes with my own assessment of self-growth.As I was thinking about this week’s episode I had a stack of notes on my desk that are simply personal notes to myself and I thought, “Why don’t I share this with people?”The podcast is never contrived or orchestrated in any way others than to serve you and perhaps give you food for thought, and when I had this idea earlier I decided to just share with you some of the bullets from my personal notes. The thoughts I share this week have been life-changing for me and I think you’ll also find value.I could give the bullet points I talk about here in this write-up but that ruins all the fun of new discovery, so, listen to this week’s episode and I’m curious so to whether or not you like the impromptu format of this episode. The general theme this week is random thoughts regarding spiritual responsibility for our lives and our personal evolution. And, because I have a transformational takeaway each week, let me pick just one from the bullets I talk about and it’s this…Transformational Takeaway: What you’re in agreement with is what you’re in alignment with.Mentioned Resources:Episode 2: Who Are You And What Is Your Identity?EPISODE 83: You speak your life into existence.Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family.
