And we are back for 2022, fam! I am delighted to kick things off in style by welcoming back an absolute favourite in the Dyl & Friends alumni, Emma Murray. Emma Murray first featured on the show early in 2021 where we spoke about the positive influence she had with athletes across the AFL (and beyond) as well as the launch of her business, High Performance Mindfulness. Without getting into the technical details, Emma helps people perform at their absolute best through techniques around meditation and mindfulness. Emma and I had plenty to update each other on and we spoke about some of the after effects people may be dealing with following the past two years. We also spoke about the ways in which we can build positive habits in our lives to combat lifestyles that may lead to chronic stress. This week on Dyl & Friends, I’m joined by the Skip, Marc Murphy. Murph is a 300-gamer (exactly) champion for the Carlton football club and one of those special loyal players that stood by his club through some of the darkest days in its history. Not only that but he stood in front of his club. When I reflect on Murph, I think of an incredible leader and someone I always looked up to and respected. In this episode, we discuss a number of chapters of Murph’s life that include his choice to deny his father-son option at the Brisbane Lions, his fascinating visualisation in preparation of games and some of his thoughts on polarising decisions made during his tenure at Princes Park. This week on Dyl & Friends, I'm joined by superstar, and newly established premiership player, Clayton Oliver. Oliver joined the AFL and the Melbourne Football Club in 2015 with the 4th overall pick in the draft after bolting up the order late in the drafting year. A lot of punters would now argue he is the top performing player from that 2015 draft crop alongside the likes of Jacob Weitering, Darcy Parish, Harry McKay and Cal Mills which speaks volumes to the output and influence he's had in the past 5 years. It's been a massive season for Clayton as he took out the AFLCA MVP award but more than that, it's been a massive journey from his entrance into the league all those years ago. He, alongside Petracca and Brayshaw, personify the rise of the success-starved Melbourne Football Club as they rose up the ladder with Simon Goodwin at the helm and pulled off a stunning flag in 2021.
