Creating Videos Using Your Phone with Heather Hukari

We keep on hearing Katie say that if you're not doing videos now, then you're really missing out big time!In this week's episode, our guest just supported that and explained how we can all use our camera phones to create awesome videos for your social media. Heather Hukari is a videographer for 20 years now. She studied broadcasting and communication in college and can be seen mostly running around the campus with a camera. Her first job was in advertising where she do a lot of video editing for short-form videos. In 2018, she opened her business which she called Video Service Hub in Denver, and helped local businesses, small and solo entrepreneurs, to create videos using only their camera phones. She revealed that adding a video on your homepage increases the conversion rate up to 80%. She believes that the pandemic has allowed people to realize that being raw is okay. That authenticity is way better than being perfect.Creating videos using your phone only has a slight difference from that done professionally especially if you're going to use it online. There are a lot of available editing apps that you can use to edit your videos using your phone. Heather mentioned Kinemaster as one of her favorite editing app. She clarified that if you're doing a video for online marketing then you can certainly use your camera phone, but if you're doing something for TV then you can use a professional videographer. She stressed the importance of starting with Instagram stories and reels. They are so fun, easy, and short videos to create. She said that we don't have to be all glammed-up to do this, just be ourselves, and that's what's really important. She's currently offering a course about the A to Zs of creating videos using your phone and all our listeners can enjoy a huge 25% discount when you use the code: NextStepSocial.Tune in to this very relevant episode and learn everything about videos and your camera phone. Do You Know Your Conversion Checkpoints with Alyson Lex

In this week's episode, we have Alyson Lex, our favorite copywriter, join us in an elaborate discussion of how we can measure the effectiveness of a particular marketing strategy. She mentioned sales as the common display of marketing success. However, more important than the sales is the actual process of getting it. Understanding the buyer's journey from the lead capture stage to the actual buying of the product or services. She discussed how important the subject line is in getting a high open-rate. Alyson mentioned about making a compelling but significant subject line to encourage your list to open and read the email. She even shared a story about an extremely effective subject line but was found irrelevant, and eventually made a negative impact on the business as a whole. "Curiosity has its limits.", Alyson said.In the second half of the episode, Alyson talked about conversion checkpoints. We find it very helpful for everyone to understand this concept and be able to improve their customer's journey down to a particular stage. She points out important stages where leads are given the chance to decide yes or no. Sorry, Mom. I Made Friends On The Internet with the Business Besties

Remember when your parents tell you not to talk to strangers? The online space has changed a lot about how people meet. In today's episode of Rocky Mountain Marketing, we're featuring episode 1 of Business Besties where Kendra and I talked about how entrepreneurs can build relationships online. We've only met face-to-face twice last year but it's like meeting a long-time friend. It's like having an accountability partner. It's so interesting to note, as Kendra said, "We may all have our 20-plus-year friends, but there's this only one person whom we can call and talk about anything about our business."Building relationships online doesn't always have to be about making a sale. Creating meaningful relationships with fellow entrepreneurs can benefit both parties in more ways than you can expect. We've met in Clubhouse and continued the conversation over on Instagram. Instagram DM is a great tool to establish that relationship further. It's so important that you choose that one platform you would like to grow your community and focus in there.Listen in as we talk more about our friendships over the internet and how can this benefit both your personal and business growth.Like the show?
