Traveling through Europe on $100 per day with Kendyl Grender | Ep 90

(Disclaimer: Click 'more' to see ad disclosure) Kendyl Grender from @kendyltravels grew up in a family that considered travel "for rich people." Until she studied abroad in 2013, she had only been to 4 states and had never been out of the country. Making just $34,000 a year out of graduate school, she made a commitment to see as much of the world as possible. Since then Kendyl has become a pretty savvy budget traveler, traveling to 14 countries and 20 US states with her husband, Aspen, for less than $18,000 over the past 5 years. She's not a nomad, a vagabond or a backpacker circumnavigating the globe. Instead, Kendyl utilizes budget travel tricks to travel more and inspires others to live life half full, too. In this episode, Kendyl and I discuss how she and her husband were able to take a month off of work and explore Europe for only $4000 out of pocket for the whole month. That includes their flights, accommodations, food, excursions, and everything else! We also discuss some credit cards that gave Kendyl some free nights at different hotels. Some of my favorites are the World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, and IHG Rewards cards, which all come with an anniversary free night certificate in addition to all the free nights you can get from the intro bonuses! Her travel platform is focused on helping individuals travel more, by sharing budget travel tips, travel tricks and strategies! She has been featured on Travel Noire and has traveled to over 20 countries and 27 states and is currently on a journey to travel to all 50 states. In this episode, Niqua and I discuss how to visit the Virgin Islands on points, the best airline routes, points hotels, excursions, and more! I had the chance to visit the British Virgin Islands myself during a press trip with Bilt last year, and the islands are absolutely incredible! They can wire your landlord an ACH payment or mail a physical check, and the points you earn can be transferred to partners like American Airlines, United, Hyatt, and more! Also, while having the Bilt card can help you earn points much faster, you can also earn a lot of free points by completing different challenges in the Bilt app even if you don’t have the card!
