Episode #98 - What's the problem with Apu? Lisa Ullmann

Debate starts at: 7:35. What's the problem with Apu? Lisa Ullmann (https://www.instagram.com/lsullmann/), executive producer of "The Ricky Gervais Show," and development exec joins us for the debate this week. TruTV released a documentary by comedian Hari Kondabolu that was critical of The Simpsons character, Apu. As an Indian-American, he says, growing up in America was an experience that was fraught with bullying due to people stereotyping Apu from the show. But some people, say me, might argue that The Simpsons was full of stereotypes. What's the problem with Apu? That's the debate this week, which was very poignant at times. I also talk about my story eating "bird seed" growing up. Plus our own Taylor Nikolai is up for a promotion. Does he deserve one? You decide. Watch the video version here at Madcast Media Network YouTube channel Watch the video version here at Madcast Media Network YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChMUFeIZ1l9uRJ4bIXuAKDg?sub_confirmation=1 Ron Babcock (http://twitter.com/ronbabcock) talks about his own experience growing up as a Slovak, which sounds super normal #MadcastSoWhite. Junior Journalist Taylor Nikolai (https://www.instagram.com/taylornikolai/) is up for a promotion. Has he kissed enough ass? Or TOO MUCH? Mikey Bolts (https://www.youtube.com/user/michaelbalalis) is on the mix with some keen insight as usual. Plus he somehow can predict which voicemails we'll receive next week... Support the show and shop at The Best Store in the Universe: http://www.maddoxrules.com/ And here's my new book, F*ck Whales: Petty essays from a brilliant mind: http://amzn.to/2oiF2xi We round out the episode with some news from Taylor, including a story about a "nipply" robo-squid. Can areola save squids, or are they still idiots? That's a sentence that requires understanding the sum-total of human knowledge to understand. Or just listening to the tail end of this episode. Great episode. You're welcome. Maddox Store - Support the show - http://www.maddoxrules.com/

Episode #97 - What's the best way to punish a child? Therapist Kelli, Dreadmere

Weed story: 14:32. What's the best way to punish a child? Therapist Kelli (http://www.kellimiller.com/) and Dreadmere (https://www.youtube.com/user/Dreadmere) are back this week to debate a timeless problem: how do you handle a dipshit kid who won't fall in line? Do smacks count as child abuse? Maybe a prescient genius who hosts this show has the best solution. Plus, I tried weed for my first time. I tell the full story on how that happened around the 14 minute mark. Great episode, stay 'til the end for all the voicemail as well. Number below. Watch the video version here at Madcast Media Network YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChMUFeIZ1l9uRJ4bIXuAKDg?sub_confirmation=1 Ron Babcock's (http://twitter.com/ronbabcock) tells a harrowing tale of his bloody fights with his brother. Maybe Ron's "threat of a belt" is enough? Not if your kid is kinky. Junior Journalist Taylor Nikolai (https://www.instagram.com/taylornikolai/) brings the news, and we learn that he's never been punished before because he was always a good kid. BARF. Mikey Bolts (https://www.youtube.com/user/michaelbalalis) brings some wisdom you can bank on this episode. Support the show and shop at The Best Store in the Universe: http://www.maddoxrules.com/ And here's my new book, F*ck Whales: Petty essays from a brilliant mind: http://amzn.to/2oiF2xi We round out the episode with a story of a doctor who provides his own sperm to a couple looking for a donor. Now they're pissed even though the doctor delivered what they wanted: a tall man with brown hair and blue eyes. Sounds like me, minus the blue eyes. The voicemail number is: 1-562-58-I-RULE (1-562-584-7853). Episode #96 - What is the solution to the Trolley Problem? Federico Pistono

Debate starts at 06:49. Author, speaker and head of blockchain for the Hyperloop, Federico Pistono (http://fede.online/) joins us this week to debate: What is the solution to the trolley problem? This sounds like an old philosophical exercise, but it has a surprising number of real-world implications with self-driving cars. For example, if a car's brakes malfunction on a narrow 2-lane road where pedestrians are crossing, should the car sacrifice the driver in order to save the group of pedestrians? What if the driver is super fat and an ex-convict? There are many stupid variations of this problem, and we cover most of them. Plus we add a few dumb ones to the mix. Great episode. Watch the video version here at Madcast Media Network YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChMUFeIZ1l9uRJ4bIXuAKDg?sub_confirmation=1 Ron Babcock's (http://twitter.com/ronbabcock) doubles down on his disdain for cottage cheese. A particular hombre who's bad happens to disagree (listen for the voicemail at the tail end). Junior Journalist Taylor Nikolai (https://www.instagram.com/taylornikolai/) brings the news, plus makes the mistake of saying I'm only awesome and not great and awesome. Thin ice. Mikey Bolts (https://www.youtube.com/user/michaelbalalis) is in studio again and hot on the mix. Episode #95 - Should you delete Facebook? Tremain Hayhoe

Debate starts at 08:37. Filmmaker Tremain Hayhoe (https://youtu.be/tLvbqLZJRT4) joins the debate this week: Should you delete Facebook? Arguments for: it's crap, objectively depressing, bullshit image-crafting. Arguments against: it's the only way to connect with most people you care about, especially if you've moved away from home. Thankfully I only care about myself, so I'm set. I also talked about the time I hit on a clown, got into a heated debate about cottage cheese, "fiesta" scrambles and I talk mad shit about miners from the 1800s. Watch the video version here at Madcast Media Network YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChMUFeIZ1l9uRJ4bIXuAKDg?sub_confirmation=1 Ron Babcock's (https://www.heyron.com/) value in ordering a fruit cup than making one. Junior Journalist Taylor Nikolai (https://www.instagram.com/taylornikolai/) brings the news, plus makes the mistake of suggesting I don't know what an algorithm is. Please, I invented algorithms. Mikey Bolts (https://www.youtube.com/user/michaelbalalis) is back and so is Trump. Guess which boy in studio likes chicken? Here's the bonus episode for all the winners who want to support the show: https://madcastmedia.com/shows/maddoxvsuniverse/3/ And here's my new book, F*ck Whales: Petty essays from a brilliant mind: http://amzn.to/2oiF2xi What do you guys think of Pope Francis? Rucka Rucka Ali (https://www.youtube.com/user/itsRucka) joins as our guest this week, along with Dylan Avery and Mike Dee. Power-packed episode on a podcast where every episode is either great or really brilliant. Rucka gets one final demotion on his farewell episode. In case you haven't heard, Rucka is going RGHOW--going his own way. We wish Rucka the best of luck. Mike Dee, Dylan Avery and Mikey Bolts hold down the fort this week in a debate about secret societies where we learn that yours truly is an Illuminati member. Suck it. I'm genuinely curious to see what people think after listening to the debate (if you consider the Illuminati's mission in mind). Zach Waldman (https://www.youtube.com/user/ZachWaldman) and Dreadmere (https://www.youtube.com/user/Dreadmere) join the debate this week. Should men go their own way (MGTOW)? It's a small but dedicated movement of men who've resigned themselves to a life of doing whatever they want. Marriage is for suckers. Relationships? According to Wilber Wright, one of the famous Wright brothers who invented flight, he didn't have time for both a wife and an airplane. He chose his plane. She brings her amazing expertise and wisdom to the show, and what do we do? We give her a moniker, Dr. Debroseph. Plus fart jokes. It's bitter-sweet, but this one will have to be heard (or seen for those watching on YouTube) to be appreciated. We'll talk more about it in the coming weeks. Mikey Bolts (https://www.youtube.com/user/michaelbalalis) had a hell of a week last week but still soldiered through. Badass. Plus a tiny Trump cameo during Rucka's non-bit bit at the end.
