This week, James is joined by Sara E. Berger, Research Staff Member and Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscientist at IBM Research. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Macalester College. Sara's background lies in systems and cognitive neuroscience, with an emphasis on chronic pain conditions and psychology. In the past, she has focused on identifying, quantifying and predicting changes in acute and chronic pain in both animals and humans - with a decade of experience in the field of pain. At IBM, she is applying her knowledge of neuroimaging, psychology and clinical research to address a wide variety of questions and applications. This week, James is joined by one of the UK's leading robotic surgeons, Mr Prasanna Sooriakumaran. He is known by his initials PS for short, and is a world leader in robotic surgery and prostate cancer care. He has published over 150 papers in medical journals on his robotic surgical techniques and research studies, and is frequently invited all over the world to teach other surgeons and doctors on his innovations. As well as his NHS consultant robotic surgeon appointment in London, PS also works for Santis Clinic London, the only private clinic in the UK in which all its surgeons were named among the best prostate cancer surgeons in the UK. This week, James is joined by Dan Vahdat, the CEO and Founder of global digital health company Huma which, not-for-profit, is helping double Covid-19 clinical capacity for hospitals across the UK, Germany and the UAE using digital wards.  The company uses people's phones, digital biomarkers and connected sensors, to collect and share patient data with their clinicians and researchers. They already help with Covid and are now tackling the patient waiting list backlog by helping care for patients before and after surgery, helping hospitals prioritise those most in need.
