What If You’re Wrong?: Navigating the Waves of Fear & Failure with Renowned Speaker, Best-Selling Author, & Founder of It Is Day Ministries, Dr. Heather Thompson Day, Ep. 241
Are you tired of living life scared or following the status quo? Maybe it’s time we remembered what it felt like to believe in ourselves before the world told us who we should be and what we should do. In today’s conversation, we will explore the chasm between the dreams we once had and the reality in which we are now living. Speaking from personal experience, renowned speaker, best-selling author, and today’s guest, Dr. Heather Thompson Day dives deep into her newest book titled, What If I’m Wrong?, to help us better understand what makes us feel overwhelmed or defeated by the hopes we once had, the disappointments we should have overcome, the goals we expected to accomplish, and the person we wanted to be. Somehow and somewhere along the way, we stopped following our heart and started listening to the lies in our head: It’s time you gave up on that childish dream. What makes you think you could accomplish that? Others see who you really are, so stop trying to be someone else. So we decided to play it safe and just accept our lot in life. And instead of feeling alive every day, we walk through our days numb and uninspired. But today’s conversation will help you understand that pursuing a painless passion means you have an insignificant dream, living a “normal” life is scarier than taking risks and embracing the unknown, being vulnerable and admitting mistakes can lead to success quicker, embracing failure might be the best thing that ever happens to you, staying motivated and confident when things go wrong gets easier with practice, and the person God made you to be is waiting to live life to the fullest! As Dr. Heather says, “Have you ever considered that the hardest things in life might be our greatest areas of passion, through which we find fulfillment in everything we do, from work to play to relationships to our faith? Fears and failures come upon us like relentless waves, pulling us to deeper water. Panicked, we believe we are going to drown. But what if we’re wrong? Maybe God is teaching us how to swim stronger, to pursue greater adventures, and to learn how to really live!” Find Out More About Dr. Heather: https://www.heatherthompsonday.com/ Purchase Your Copy of What If I’m Wrong?: https://www.amazon.com/What-If-Im-Wrong-Navigating/dp/1400341574 Link to Cross Communication: https://www.crosscommunication.com/ Check out Dr. Heather’s ‘What If I’m Wrong Podcast’: https://www.heatherthompsonday.com/podcast Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

The Art of Encouragement: How to Lead Teams, Spread Love, and Serve from the Heart with USA Today Bestselling Author, Renowned Performance Coach, and Keynote Speaker, Jordan Montgomery, Ep. 240
There’s no question that loneliness has become a global epidemic and is now being recognized as the invisible illness of our day and age. And the sad reality is that it’s always the undiagnosed illnesses that are the most dangerous and deadly. Dr. Mark Mayfield defines loneliness as: “The state of being unseen or unnoticed—relationally, emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually. It’s marked by a deep sense of hopelessness.” And loneliness is more than just a feeling. It’s a disease pathway, meaning as loneliness increases, so do levels of anxiety, depression, substance use, and even suicide risk. According to a Cigna survey of over 20,000 adults: 54% felt no one truly knew them, 43% said their relationships didn’t feel meaningful, and 36% said they didn’t feel like they had anyone to turn to. Again, that’s not just concerning—it’s a crisis. Because no matter who you are, where you're from, or what you've been through, you were designed to be connected. For this reason as we are nearing the end of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are bringing on a very special guest who is an expert in human connection and leadership - Jordan Montgomery. Jordan is a USA Today bestselling author, renowned performance coach, and keynote speaker, trusted by elite business executives, sales teams, professional athletes, and entrepreneurs. Known for his dynamic presence and transformative insights, Jordan has shared the stage with countless luminaries such as Jon Gordon, John Maxwell, Angela Duckworth, and many others. Additionally, he and his wife, Ashley, lead Montgomery Companies, a powerhouse team of nationally recognized speakers and coaches. Whether in the boardroom or on the sports field, their team excels at helping leaders and teams reach peak performance. Their impressive client roster includes Fortune 500 companies like John Deere, Northwestern Mutual, and Principal Financial, as well as elite athletes, Olympians, and Super Bowl champions. In today’s conversation we will be discussing his most recent book, The Art of Encouragement, in order to help you more effectively lead with, serve, connect, and spread love with those you interact with. Blindsided: How to Forgive What You Never Saw Coming with Founder and Executive Director of the Emotional Recovery Clinic, Keisha Wright, Ep. 239
Keisha Wright is a professional life coach from the Sunshine State of Florida, who like many others, spent her early years doing what she was “supposed” to do. She went to school, became a teacher, wife, and mother, and her life was seemingly normal, until it wasn’t. She went from working in the school system to raising a family and then, all of a sudden, she was faced with tragedy she didn’t know how to deal with. She then found herself in counseling and was told it was going to take 3-5 years to fully recover from her trauma. That’s when something within her changed. She thought to herself, “I can’t hang on that long, there must be a better way”. And in that moment of desperation, she remembers telling God “if you can get me out of this, I will dedicate the rest of my life to teaching others how to do the same.” That’s when she was blessed with meeting a woman who offered to help her overcome her trauma. Throughout her healing journey this friend/coach taught Keisha the way forward and as she began doing the work, she ended up developing the foundations of the Emotional Recovery Clinic. Once healed, Keisha spent the next 12 years volunteering her time to help others recover, as well as establish her own practice, Women’s Recovery Clinic. She spent her time traveling across the country teaching both women and men how to heal their trauma. Now, Keisha continues to uphold that same vision and mission as she jumps into life with others when their going gets tough and everything seems to be falling apart. Like her friend/coach did for her, she walks this journey of recovery with people until it becomes their new normal. Her purpose is clear: to teach you the way out, as none of us are born knowing how to put our lives back together. From Suicide to Sanctified: Lessons Learned from the Day He Didn’t Die with Chief Operating Officer of Recovery Alive, Casey Temple, Ep. 238
I’ve heard it said that for people who are suicidal, it isn’t that they hate life, it’s that they hate life the way that it is. It’s not even about wanting to end their life, it’s about wanting to end their pain. But sadly, so many find themselves slipping to the point of brokenness where it seems so difficult or at times impossible to see an opportunity for change or a brighter tomorrow. Today’s guest has a similar story of wanting the pain to stop in his own life! After a difficult upbringing and some challenging moments in his own personal life, Casey Temple, found himself pulling the trigger with every intention of ending his life. BUT GOD had different plans! Rather escaping the pain, Jesus brought him purpose, hope, and healing in the midst of it! Recovering From Betrayal: Understanding Boundaries, the Process of Forgiveness, & Learning to Trust Again with President & Chief Visionary Officer of Proverbs 31 Ministries, Renowned Speaker, and Best-Selling Author, Lysa TerKeurst, Ep. 237
In the words of today’s guest, none other than President & Chief Visionary Officer of Proverbs 31 Ministries, Renowned Speaker, & Best-Selling Author, Lysa Terkeurst, “The last several years have been the hardest of my life. I know the depths of marital heartbreak, and what it feels like to wrestle through healing. I also know what it feels like to be diagnosed with cancer and to wonder why God would allow so much heartbreak. My pillow has seen its fair share of tears. But I’ve also seen God move in astounding ways… not always the ways I thought He would, but I guess that’s why we are called to follow Him with faith. And at the end of each day, that’s what you’ll find me doing — going to bed while saying thankful prayers for ways I once again experienced God’s faithfulness that day, big and small. I wish with every fiber of my heart that I could erase parts of my story. But staying stuck in trying to wish something away will cause me to miss the beauty of what is… and even better… trusting God for what can be.” We hope and pray that today’s conversation would help you navigate the pain of betrayal while clinging to the hope of the gospel. Although not easy - forgiveness, boundaries, and trust are skills that can be learned and developed again! The Courage to Face It: A Journey of Healing & Vulnerability Through Embracing the Past with Carl Lentz, Ep. 236
Today’s episode is different. It’s raw. It’s real. And honestly — it’s probably one of the most vulnerable conversations we’ve ever had on this show. Because our guest is Carl Lentz. Maybe you’ve already formed opinions. Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is scandal, failure, or church hurt. I get that. But what you’ll hear today isn’t a defense. It’s not image rehab. It’s not hype or spin. It’s a man who hit rock bottom — spiritually, emotionally, relationally — and lived to tell the story. Carl doesn’t sugarcoat the pain. He talks about the darkness that followed his fall. The shame. The wreckage. The long, hard work of rebuilding not a brand, but a soul. And not on a stage — but in the quiet, often brutal daily battle of showing up and doing the next right thing. He talks about godly sorrow, not just regret. About reverence, not image. About waking up every day and saying, “I can’t change the past, but I can let God change me.” You’ll hear about marriage, redemption, identity, fatherhood, faith, and the fight to become someone new when the old you has already burned to the ground. So if you’ve ever thought failure disqualifies you from the love of God, that it’s too late, too far gone, to broken to find your way back home – I want you to lean in. Because this isn’t a comeback story. This is a resurrection story. And our hope and prayer is that you would be reminded in and through this episode that you could never outsin God’s grace or outrun His love! If you've ever felt like your past disqualifies you, or that your darkest day is the end of your story, I pray this episode shows you otherwise. Because again, this conversation isn’t about cleaning up your image. It’s about owning your story — and letting God do something redemptive with even the most broken pieces. You Already Have the Key: How God Often Reveals Who We Are by Reminding Us of Who He Is with Paul Daugherty, Ep. 235
Depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma are on the rise, even more so after the painful few years we’ve all been through. While the church has had an unfortunate track record of glossing over mental health issues, Paul Daugherty, pastor of the megachurch Victory and today’s guest on the podcast, believes it’s time for the church to break its silence. You can’t just pray trauma away. Depression and anxiety can affect even the most devoted believer. Therefore, in today’s conversation, Paul sits down with hosts, Zach & Josh, to share his own story of walking through anxiety and depression, helping others understand how frightening and debilitating mental health struggles can be, and talking vulnerably about the highs and lows of his healing journey. He also describes some of the biggest mental and emotional health issues he has seen people in his life and his congregation facing, including depression, anxiety, insecurity, mood swings, and the scars of trauma. Daugherty dives into scripture and lays a framework for understanding the spiritual truths behind each mental battle, and offers practical tips and strategies to help readers discover the door out of depression and into mental and emotional victory. The greatest takeaway from today’s conversation is that you may already have possession of the key to the door of hope and healing that you’ve been searching for all along!
