17. DIRECT PRIMARY CARE MODEL with Farah Myers, FNP
In this episode I have special guest Farah Myers, FNP. Together we cover the frustrations of the traditional health care model.
We explore an alternative to short appointments and long wait times with utilizing direct primary care. Comprehensive care at an affordable price. What does that mean?
Farrah explains what she provides at her practice Cook Creek Family Health-
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model of value based primary care that allows the patient (you) better access and a more personal relationship with your primary care provider. DPC takes medicine back to its roots. You get more relaxed visits which is more time with your provider and more time for your provider to think about your care – even when you are not in the office.
By charging a monthly membership fee, we take the insurance company and big health system administrations out of the equation. That is the secret. We eliminate costly transaction processes and fees that traditional insurance practices have to endure. We also drop the “commission based” pressure that big health systems place on providers to see the most patients per day. This means less paperwork, less external interference, open scheduling, no co-pays and upfront pricing. This way we are able to spend more time to ensure you are getting the most individualized care while saving you money.
You will have access to your primary care provider via unlimited office visits, text, e-mail, and video chat to make sure you get excellent care where and when you need it.
DPC is NOT insurance coverage. We are your primary care provider, so we do recommend insurance coverage for major events. We can help guide you to find an insurance plan that works for you.
At Yoo Direct Health, we have transitioned out of primary care and focus primarily on functional medicine, hormone optimization, lifestyle medicine, peptide therapy, aesthetic procedures and so much more in regard to regenerative medicine. I think Farah and her practice is a great place to have our patients seek out their primary care or same days sick needs while keeping Yoo Direct Heath for your functional and aesthetic care!

15. All about PDO Threads with special guest Dr.Abbie Bledsoe
In this episode I review PDO threads with Dr.Abbie Bledsoe.
Dr.Bledsoe is Family Nurse Practitioner at Ageless Aesthetics.
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are absorbable sutures that can lift and rebuild the structures of the skin. PDO threads have received FDA clearance and are now recognized as a safe, minimally-invasive alternative to surgical face and neck lifts. Although PDO threads cannot completely replace a full face lift, they can delay the need for surgical procedures as well as increase the longevity of a previous facelift by supporting the skin and preventing sagging and premature wrinkles.
PDO threads are made from Polydiaxanone suture material that has been used in surgical procedures, such as cardiac, osteopathic and plastic surgery for decades. Hypoallergenic and non-pyrogenic, PDO threads are a safe and effective way to lift and tighten sagging skin. Once inserted into the skin, the threads will instantly lift loose skin and continuously stimulate neocollagenesis to improve skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles and the overall firmness of the skin. PDO threads also induces the formation of elastin, which is the main protein constituent of elastic connective tissue in the dermis, which gives you the . By stimulating the growth of bio-identical collagen and elastin in the skin, you can rebuild the building blocks and reverse the signs of aging.
Topics covered:
-Kinds of threads
-Uses of these threads
-Pain management for threads
-After care

13. BHRT Pellet therapy
What is BHRT?
Bioidentical hormones are manmade hormones derived from plant estrogens that are chemically identical to those the human body produces. Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are among those most commonly replicated and used in treatment. Bioidentical hormones come in various forms, including: creams, pellets, troches, patches or capsules.
BHRT Components
Some bioidentical hormones are made by drug companies. Others, known as compounded bioidentical hormones, are custom made by a compounding pharmacy based on the individualized prescription for the patient.
Traditional vs. Bioidentical
Bioidentical hormones are different from those used in traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in that they’re identical chemically to those our bodies produce naturally and are made from plant estrogen. The hormones used in traditional HRT are made from the urine of pregnant horses and other synthetic hormones. Current evidence is inconclusive if bioidenticals are “safer” than traditional hormones.
In this episode we discuss BIOTE pellet therapy, process, costs, aftercare and follow up!
