Misconceptions About Happiness and Our Minds' Lies
Many people put a lot of effort into trying to be happy, but few of us seem to actually be happy. The problem lies in the misconceptions that we have about happiness. We believe that if certain things happen, like getting a perfect job, a higher salary, or achieving certain goals, we will finally be happy. However, studies show that while these things may provide a temporary boost in happiness, they do not lead to long-lasting happiness. The issue is that our minds lie to us about what truly makes us happy. We have a bias called the arrival fallacy, where we believe that once a certain event or achievement happens, we will be happy. But in reality, happiness comes from something else. To find true happiness, we need to work on understanding the right things that will make us feel good and not rely on external circumstances for our happiness.
