How to Lose Weight: The Carbon cycle

All metabolism and energy production revolves around breaking carbon bonds. Oxygen is not a fuel source but a necessary product for metabolism to occur. Plants inhale CO2 and exhale O2, while humans do the opposite. Carbohydrates and fats are chains of carbon. Plants use energy from the sun to form bonds with inhaled carbon, while humans must ingest carbon to get it into their system. Storage of excess carbon in the body leads to weight gain. Metabolism involves breaking carbon bonds to release carbon, which requires oxygen to form CO2 for exhalation.
