The rise in divorce rates may be attributed to the prevalence of distractions in modern society. The abundance of alternatives in every aspect of life has made it difficult to invest in one person or relationship. Distractions, such as smartphones and endless entertainment options, have made it challenging to pay attention to our partner's needs. The disposable nature of everything and everyone has diminished our ability to have patience and emotional investment in others. Society's emphasis on self and individualism has further eroded the collectivism that used to exist, resulting in decreased happiness derived from others' happiness.
