Frustration with the status quo can fuel creativity and lead to fresh solutions. Dissatisfied employees who feel committed to the company and have access to feedback and support are the most creative. Ignoring their frustration can lead to unproductive or counterproductive behavior, but listening to them can turn them into allies. Innovation is often initially disliked but appreciated later.
