What's Your Purpose in Being on Your Phone?
The insight of this snip is understanding the purpose and intention behind being on your phone. It is important to question why you are using your phone at a particular moment. This could be to check the weather, read a text, or out of habit. Identifying the trigger for using your phone, such as a specific goal, feeling anxious, or being bored, allows you to be more mindful about your usage. Additionally, it is necessary to consider the opportunity cost of being on your phone and what you may be missing out on in the real world. This could be noticing the beauty of nature or engaging in meaningful conversations. While smartphones can be useful, it is essential to renegotiate the relationship with these devices and use them in a more intentional manner.
